Sorry, I have to counter you. Because someone close to me has always been about countering survivorship bias. And they have absolutely ruined their life. I think the six months bootcamp hires certainly tilted the prestige part into tech being just another mass hiring industry. And mass hiring did happen during the pandemic on a large scale.

Imo, tech is still a great place to be. But we all need to raise the bar for hires.
