Thank you!
I'm working on https://www.OnetimeFax.com - it's a way to send and receive faxes for a flat fee without needing to subscribe to anything.
Version 1 was a script I wrote for myself to fax the courts a jury duty deferral during covid lockdown, and then during my parental leave I productized it.
What RTS games are you playing now, please?
VERY COOL! I joined the waitlist.
Wow, thanks for making it so easy for me to know who to call and what to say. They answered the phone in 1 second (seriously), I told them what I wanted to say, and they recorded my name and that was it.
Is the joke that every one of those is an acquisition?
I look forward to seeing this on https://killedbygoogle.com in a few weeks.
Preprints.
At a previous job they refused to give me database access and instead insisted I ask them whenever I needed any columns added/altered, however I did have access to the code to do my job and...mysql root credentials were committed to the repo.
To keep the charade up I sent one of every 20 requests to them to do for me.
And easier deletes if customer X wants all their data deleted!
This was an excellent exchange that I learned a lot from. Thank you both.
I watch some running race registration sites with Zapier and when it tells me that they are open I go register immediately so I can have a low bib number.
Because if they didn't, they'd get criticism about not doing so right away. Also...GDPR?
What is the right way to redact a pdf?
“accidentally”
Not to take away from your point, but Braintree and Braintree-owned Venmo were acquired by PayPal in 2013.
I love this. This is what I'm using now!
I sync my photos, iPhone backups, and documents to iCloud Drive.
My documents folder is backed up by Google Drive.
What would happen to your personal data if you got burgled?
Like...Slack.
Postgres, PHP w/ Slim Framework, Python w/ Django, React, Redis, AWS.
This is a combination of things I'm most familiar with and things I'd build shit in if not for the fact that other devs at my company aren't familiar with it. i.e. We use MySQL everywhere, so I can't just spin up a new project using Postgres for the sake of consistency.
I cannot get the site to load in Chrome 65, by the way. I'm getting:
This site can’t provide a secure connection
wonderunit.com uses an unsupported protocol.
ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH
But why? What’s the point? ELI5 please.
The title used to be "Using machine learning to...".
It's a cool project, I just wish its capabilities weren't being misrepresented like this. It's currently just sumy, tokenization, and summarization. Like got2surf said, you'll benefit greatly from lemmatization.
When you say machine learning...do you mean NLP text summarization?
Great product! FYI that your terms page is broken: https://popcornnotify.com/terms
Well, last time this was posted, 69% had less than $1000: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=12548610
So I guess things are getting better?
