If it was true that it’s a waste of time to converse with others when paradings and ideologies are far away or even opposite to ours then if you think about it on a more extreme side diplomacy and ambassadors are then in your view just utterly useless and so much more a waste of time. If you tell me that you can’t do it in your own country and it’s a waste of time imagine the effort they have to do in some exotic culture.
It’s up to you. If you don’t want to do anything that has an impact too.

Actually that statement shows exactly the political and societal problems there is today in the US. If people can’t even talk together and even get insulted it’s going to go even worst.
It was true 2 centuries ago. In the age we are now where each country is interconnected at every level of a society (economy, culture, trade, innovation, research, military…) that’s not possible anymore. WW2 showed it. You can’t play head in the sand and think that everything will be fine. Since then every major economy drawbacks showed the world we live today is all interconnected and interdependent. And that’s the same for any other type of backlash or drawbacks from politics, alliances, society…

On a side note, if you code in JS/TS and you are a full-stack or backend dev, use PhpStorm instead. It is essentially Webstorm (+ PHP) + all the database tools. Those tools are one of the big reasons I bought their software with my own money.

Law and Govs are not so bad that we should get rid of it. They do add value to society compared to a fully lawless anarchic community/tools/etc. There is a place where freedom does have to stop and trespassing that frontier will have consequences.
We don't need to through all our laws and Gov (especially in Western countries where really it's not so bad). But instead, we need better law, law enforcement, etc... The key part is it's up to us to fight for it.

That’s so bad. You should be able to patent specific rules to protect your game or like board game and avoid people from copy pasting it. But you shouldn’t be able to patent such broad mechanics…

Is it still true that writing optimized Haskell is extremely hard? Since Haskell is GC, can I write code as fast as say Java or Go?

How do you manage transactions with PostgREST? Is there a way to do it inside it? Or does it need to be in a good old endpoint/microservice? I can’t find anything in their documentation about complex business logic beyond CRUD operations.
That's why I am a huge fan of Rust but at the same time at the end of the day all I want is the features of the language that Rust has minus the memory management and a GC. That would be my dream language. If only ReasonML/Rescript were more popular... Or I guess Elixir
I upvoted you but after thinking about it actually, you will find that this will attract kids that are friends for the money and start weird dynamics in the social bubble of his son. But your idea is right! Maybe he could have done gaming sessions at his house or who knows what to better spend this money on other games.
What happens the day where the only way to fork it realistically is to pay people. And I mean good people to even keep up? And what if on top of that the bests in the game are already in the corporations that you want to fork from?
Oh yes. Books like Primo Levi “If This Is a Man” are good to read. Also some can you into deep depression… it’s important to be careful to let the door to your mind opened to anything.
Yes I actually liked the dragon being last. It created the sense of surprise over a calm unimpressive room. First the area was described as much as it would be if it was in real life and you were entering the room and scanning it with your eyes until your eyes finally go to this dangerous thing you didn’t see at first.
I think it’s better for narrative but for communication for sure the most important things come first, and sometimes last only if you want them to continue to have it in their mind.

The greatest experts can often walk with a laymen right down to and rub against the jargon-filled specifics in a way that leaves no doubt they're able to step over that line without problem.
Unfortunately I think it’s naive. I saw people ready to say BS things with a touch of acronyms getting more traction and at higher levels compared to some experts. It’s true experts can walk a layman into deeper subjects but so people used to half BS and know how to convince people…
I remember getting a technical interview with the CTO of a startup. He knew all the vocabulary of DDD, Event Sourcing and the like and was talking length about it but he couldn’t explain even what he was saying like what is an aggregate, etc… I’m sure he was convincing to other officers and the tech team but not to me.
Because of that I feel like almost only experts can detect non experts.
The world is full of people like that. Consultants are sometimes literally all they do.
