I don't think so since Google isn't responsible for updating Android phones (except for the Nexus models). That's a job for the OEMs.

Your plan is to just throw this on GitHub and hope for the best? If it is you should definitely consider waiting for the DUNS number, the amount of users you're going to reach in the App Store compared to on GitHub is just enormous, also your app looks great and I would buy it for sure, but I would compile it myself because of the effort it would take.

I come to Hacker News just for the opinion articles that people post. I also love to read The Verge.

Just by looking at the photos in the article you know it will be a crazy one. Great saturday read material.

HTML5 can be fast just like Native applications, but you need to know how to make it faster. Hopefully we are going to get more awesome libraries and frameworks like Sencha Touch to make our life easier.

The "spying" feature is only for Unity, since Mint doesn't use Unity then it doesn't have it. Also they aren't "spying" on you more than 10% of what Google is doing right now.

The problem with his article isn't that he tried Ubuntu the problem is the language that he used. He sounded like he wanted internet riots that would boycott Canonical.

Canonical made extremely great things for the open source community and because of one single thing he makes it sound like Canonical was a tumor inside the community that should be exterminated.

My opinion about RMS is very simple. He did a incredible job by creating the GPL license and funding the GNU project, but in the modern world he needs to get out of his cavern and at least try the things he rant about, after he tried and realized that it really isn't good he can say anything about it.

I can't hear a person that wants anarchism for the open source community and reads sites by wget'ing them. After he tries things for himself instead of just hearing about them I'll start to hear him again.

Actually he never used Ubuntu as his main distro, just for reviews. He's main distro is Arch.

That's coming from a developer that lost it's business because RMS told him on the show he hosted (Linux Action Show) that he was imoral because he was developing proprietary software, so he decided to GPL his applications and ask for donations. Now he's working for a development company because he couldn't make a living from donations.

That looks awesome! I would love to use that in my Arduino Uno that I've ordered for Christmas.

I loved the Vivaldi project, but sadly I couldn't not get one and this one I can get.

I really thought about getting into Windows 8, sadly Microsoft disappointed me several times. The biggest one was the Windows Phone 8 launch, which made my development device (a HTC Titan) stuck in WP 7.5.

I've been successful on Android, but I really hate the fragmentation.

I've tried BlackBerry development (got a PlayBook to develop on) and after 2 months working on a app using their HTML5 library bbUI.js my app started to misbehave because of a bug on that library. After 2 more weeks trying to correct this problem I couldn't correct the bug and my problem just became bigger. So I rage quit.

I've been trying a bit of iOS development, but Objective-C is giving me a hard time.
