He definitely knew how to program, just by listening him talk about it. I don't think he was a Midas but he understood it. He was really smart, listen to his lecture to MBA students in the early 90s, for a guy who never went to college, his understanding of microeconomics was amazing.

I don't think I have the motivation type ADHD but I do struggle to get motivated, especially after the initial excitement phase of a project. What I found worked for me was a particular set of songs, once I put that playlist on, within 5 minutes I'm in the zone. I don't ever listen to that playlist any other time.

Here's what I miss, there were these two hole in the wall restaurants in LA that we discovered,we would travel for an hour due to traffic. The food was amazing and we would always have time to chat with the owner and staff, it was always just a few tables filled, beautiful paintings. Then one day, we went to one of them and the line was out the door, inside was packed. The owner was surprised at the growth but some Hispters put it on yelp with good reviews and it just blew up from there.

The quality of the food went down in a big way, especially the speciality drinks they would make but the owner was able to open up 3 more of those restaurants. The other restaurant still hasn't been discovered and is not on yelp but we haven't been since the pandemic. I guess, something is lost and something is gained but I miss finding high quality, low trafficked restaurants and sharing them with close friends.

I think your comment is a bit dismissive. Facebook is not the first to encounter this, it happened 6/7 years ago and they should have known better. Secondly, if the Data Scientist working on this were all black, this would not have happened, just like the automatic soap dispensers in bathrooms.

Still a lot of work to be done, what I do know is, I have a family member who went to a friends party and got infected, he was sick for a few weeks and recovered without hospitalization. A few months later, the genius decided to go to a Casino near Reno NV and got infected a 2nd time and was just as sick.

When I was a kid, I remember being dewormed about 3 times and I still remember the medicine, Vermox. The first time I freaked out because I saw the long worms come out And then some in my stool, but after that I was used to it. Now, as an adult I have crazy seasonal allergies, hopefully that wasn’t the cause.

"class trip to Africa"- Its strange they didn't require him to get a shot before going to a country in Africa that is a Malaria risk. I know a lot UCLA and Michigan students who did exchange programs to African countries and got shots before leaving.

This is an oversimplification, in reality you looking for a certain ratio of weight, muscle mass, lactic acid buildup and other blood markers. This ratio can only be sustained for a short period of time, which is why you ramp up to competitions and peak during competition week. I dont see why experienced coaches would keep an athlete in this peak state since they know its not possible. In another sport, cyclist get so low in weight that they become very susceptible to illness but once again, it's only maintained for a very short period of time.

I grew up in a non-western country and at the age of 19 I sporadically got Acne and I ate meat once a week and hardly any sugar. It lasted a 1 1/2yrs, fast forward 5yrs I got Acne at age 26 again but worst, this time it wasn't going away, finally I decided to just use natural ingredients. I got tea tree oil and jojoba oil mixed them and would put it on my face and 3 months later it went away forever.

I still don't get any pimples even after going back to normal lotion but around Halloween I always get a pimple or two because of all the candy.

Nap with headphones on and play low tranquil music. This issue is mental and not physical, since what you describing is you noticing a strong heartbeat, its a good thing, your stroke volume is good.

This is scary, I have 1 month disposables but use them for 1-3 months, I always insert them with wet hands, I shower with them on most days, I swim at the gym with them but use goggles. I've been doing this for the last 14yrs, time to change my habits!

If I understand correctly, you have to have an open wound for this to occur?

Hi Brian, I currently use pocket, why should I use Instapaper instead, is there any differentiation? I also receive the Instapaper weekly emails, which I love for the curation of top stories. Thanks.

Have you considered that it's excess skin because your weight was pretty high for your height and you were losing over 10lbs a month?

I literally just finished reading an article on Hubspot by Dan Lyons: My Year In Startup Hell

" Another reason to hire young people is that they’re cheap. HubSpot runs at a loss, but it is labor-intensive. How can you get hundreds of people to work in sales and marketing for the lowest possible wages? One way is to hire people who are right out of college and make work seem fun. You give them free beer and foosball tables. You decorate the place like a cross between a kindergarten and a frat house. You throw parties. Do that, and you can find an endless supply of bros who will toil away in the spider monkey room for $35,000 a year. "

I hate storyboards and I decided that I will start using them after my current project is done. I just had so much code dealing with autolayout and constraints and weird little bugs. This looks really cool and will try it out. Thanks for the lib.
