Well then, nice to meet a fellow Nigerian :) Ebola is a recent thing AFAIK, so it would make sense that no one was freaking out about it when you were a kid.

To be fair, it does sound like you were in rural Nigeria, so my Malaria experience is likely different from yours

I have a Chevy Bolt and a Model 3 in my household. Of course I much prefer to drive the Model 3, but the Chevy bolt is also all electric , goes about 240 miles on a single charge and costs about $20k less than the Model 3. Why more people don't get a Chevy Bolt, is a mystery to me.

how are you learning though? Who you play against is pretty important. You need to try and play against the strongest players you can find. Dont be afraid of losing to them

The price does not have to be so high..IF stuff is not working out, you can just quit and try something else. There is nothing heroic or romantic about living in poverty. Joining the workforce or running a so called lifestyle business that makes actual money is not a bad thing.

All this talk of sacrifice and being gods tells me you need to step outside your bubble. You are trying to start a company, not solve World hunger.

The question may have been better phrased as "How unreliable is the internet" . TCP and UDP packets will be dropped at just about the same rate across any network, the only difference is that TCP keeps track, and re-sends any packets that did not arrive.

Each protocol has its own place (and uses)...

I suspect many here do not know who he is, but you should probably read his "How to get rich" book..here's a quote :

"Inch by inch, share by share, the nerds diluted to gain capital to expand and survive. Eventually, the majority of them lost control of their tiny companies. Many became salaried employees of the company they had helped to found."

Sounds to me like you are looking for excuses not to solve your own problem...IF you have a means of reaching out to the guy, do so , whats the worst that can happen?

On my Mac using Google Chrome , I get : Quickbooks Simple Start: $12.95 Quickbooks Online Essentials: $26.95 Quickbooks Online Plus:$39.95

Using Safari , I get : Quickbooks Simple Start : $6.95 Quickbooks Online Essentials : $9.95 Quickbooks Online Plus: $13.95

I don't think telling him/her to stay away from swift is good advice. The swift language itself is not all you have to worry about. Getting familiar with Cocoa touch is also another task. You have about 2 months before ios 8 comes out. In my opinion thats enough time to learn swift and cocoa touch, and come up with a not too complex app.

Excellent tips..my only nit pick is with not using ranges..If you are forced to make the first offer, a range can help figure out what the other party is thinking..if I offer $30-$50 for example, and he jumps on the $50, I'll just repeat the offer at something like $35

Chess Opening Moves 12 years ago

The majority of the opening part of a Chess game is spent trying to force your opponent into a variation of an opening that you are most comfortable with. To be a good Chess player, you would need to be at least aware of most of the main lines, and then really master a few.

I find the effort here commendable, but it will probably not take a very long time for these guys to realize that "Africa is not a country" . I'm Nigerian, and I have been to a few African countries. First of all the challenges you have to overcome while doing business in Nigeria alone, varies wildly from one City to another. Now comparing that to East Africa for example, the difference is night and day. It may serve these guys well to begin their venture in one African country they find most familiar / friendly, then expand their efforts from there.

What part of what he said was taken out of context? Up until a few years ago, there were no examples of successful black Quarterbacks in the NFL.. IF everyone just looked at that "fact", there would still be none. Data can be used to justify anything you like, as long as you are already sufficiently biased.

IF you are trying to change the world with your App..go Android, you'll reach more people. If you just need to make some side income definitely go with IOS.

If you want to change the world AND make money...I'll be rooting for you, let me know when you make it, and how.

Regarding your footnote...Is top 50 really the inflection point? My experience has been top 25, then top 10. I don't have the exact figures, but I had an app (finance category) get in the top 25 on around 30 daily downloads, but bounced between 11 and 13 with 100-150 daily downloads. It never did get into the top 10, or I suspect I may have been posting this from my private jet :)

If you are no longer selling the list, can you show it on your site? When you say 3 letter domains, are you referring to dictionary words or any random 3 letter?
