Matt, Looking forward in regaining Elon's and his team trust to use CF again.
dane, open up more ports for spectrum/L4 to paid customers please!
Chinese cloud platforms (led by Alibaba & Tencent Cloud) are disrupting the APAC region by offering up to 40% reduced pricing than their western counterparts.
Indonesia's Gojek (Uber + Doordash + Paypal superapp), a heavy kubernetes company with 25 million MAU, migrates off GCP + AWS to Alibaba + Tencent.
Wonder if CCP companies are going to enter the European/US market to disturb the long dominating AWS + GCP + Azure, esp with AWS's crazy prices.
With CF's main selling point of "free CDN requests & egress pricing", it is charging Enterprise customers PER requests and bandwidth based on an order form from an incoming customer.
I experienced it myself within the last 24 hours. New D1 & Hyperdrive deployment was not working. It would spew out internal errors & timeouts.
Both are non-GA products, and the point is that non-GA are not part of the HA cluster (yet)
thats why DRC exists right?
At what time were you notified Matt?
If I run a nginx without Cloudflare, what should I do?
Similar blockage happened in South Korea where the govt blocked Cloudflare's r2.dev domain.
What's your stance on a single root domain hosting thousands of projects?
Quite confusing homepage for those who just need a web protection from DDoS.
Yes, no notice
Just so you know, Kakao is the Google of Korea.
They hold messaging (no. 1 messaging app), payment, even maps. and all of them are down now.
that's great to hear. thought it was going to be locked behind enterprise door.
Please make this product available for non-enterprises too (at a cost, of course.) @jgrahamc @eastdakota
outage RCAs..
Confirmed by OVH.
hugops to cf team. <3
outage caused by AAE-1 submarine cable cut in Egypt.. well.. let's see how long it takes
https://twitter.com/CloudflareRadar/status/15342010304303636...
affecting other T1 providers too, NTT, Arelion (ex-Telia) also cloud providers OVH who have dark fibers between EU <-> Asia
CF lost the #1 fastest provider in some countries compared to Full Stack Week (ex. Indonesia, Mexico, Chile, etc).
Any reasons why? Network peering/interconnection issue with local ISPs? How did Akamai (in Indonesia, Chile) managed to "overtake" CF?
It's still in development, so no details about that yet. Maybe their top tier DCs?
"Our vision for R2 includes multi-region storage that automatically replicates objects to the locations they’re frequently requested from."
That's true. Other than ASN & subnet, would like to see metrics per Cloudflare plans. Enterprise plan have more servers & locations, while the free plan goes to the "cheapest locations"
Would be really cool if we could see those metrics per ASNs. Awesome report.
It's also the same thing with the "server" header right? Cloudflare will override the server header to their own name. I think this an old thing, not a new feature introduced recently.
Well, not an issue for me though. Why not use your own headers?
Conceptually, it's very good & well designed. But unfortunately the tunnel is not available on all PoPs yet, much more latency in my case. Still comparing with Tailscale.
