Good thing about Bitcoin is that it might push for next gen computers (quantum computers etc.) to break it. It forces us to invent something even better. Until then I don't see Bitcoin going anywhere but up.

You can use the same argument for money except it does not have the dependency internet, it has a lot of other dependencies though
In my opinion JS was never meant to be used the way it is in all these frameworks. It should be used to do very simple things to improve the user experience. Modern web development is the result of meddlesome engineers abandoning the KISS principle trying to solve a problem outside of their reach (web browsers).
Started working on a text-based MMO a couple of weeks ago https://github.com/johlits/rpg
I do authentication from another service and send encrypted commands to the server which carries them out and encrypts the responses back.
Even for a text based game it is tough but I keep it simple as long as I can!
Build things for other people you like or care about.
Blog about it. It makes you think about the project from a different view.

I actually use iPad for coding nowadays. It is of course slower than using a keyboard but also a quite relaxing and fun way of programming.
