Pocket Pal is what I've seen used before. Although recently heard about "Off Grid" but not read any reviews about it or tried it personally so caveat emptor. Will see if the community has other suggestions
I must add that I also tried out the standard "should I walk or drive to the carwash 100 meters away for washing the car" and it made usual error or suggesting a walk given the distance and health reasons etc. But then this does not claim to be a reasoning model and I did not expect, in the remotest case, for this to be answered correctly. Ever previous generation larger reasoning models struggle with this
Thanks for sharing the link to your instance. Was blazing fast in responding. Tried throwing a few things at it with the following results: 1. Generating an R script to take a city and country name and finding it's lat/long and mapping it using ggmaps. Generated a pretty decent script (could be more optimal but impressive for the model size) with warnings about using geojson if possible 2. Generate a latex script to display the gaussian integral equation - generated a (I think) non-standard version using probability distribution functions instead of the general version but still give it points for that. Gave explanations of the formula, parameters as well as instructions on how to compile the script using BASH etc 3. Generate a latex script to display the euler identity equation - this one it nailed.
Strongly agree that the knowledge density is impressive for the being a 1-bit model with such a small size and blazing fast response

If you add in the 1000$ that treasury plans to invest starting next year, that is $1250 compounded at 5% annually after 18 years to $3008.27. It's probably still not a "head start" given that inflation is assumed to nominally rise at 2.5 to 3.5% annually and will take a bite out of what the real value is worth in 18 years. Good intentions but misplaced as others have stated. Investing in other ways to provide upward economic mobility will provide much better ROI for the society than allowing most of the wealth to accrue to a handful of people

Sample size of 1 so caveat emptor! In my household YT shorts on TV is used precisely for that reason by my kid who does not have a dedicated device. I personally like to watch travel videos or train videos which display a lot better on a larger screen TV since they are essentially documentaries with lots of visuals that should be "experienced"

ARPA-H, FWIW, is setup within the NIH. But it is structured to focus on more of "breakthrough" type processes, procedures, devices etc. Also the ARPA-H proposals are not driven solely by peer-review scoring unlike most NIH funding mechanisms. Typically ARPA-H tends to me across specific disease areas and more general in nature

Well said! I'm a manager that strongly prefers to work from the office but fought hard for my team to WFH if they preferred to do so. So now about 20% of my team comes into the office (by choice) while the others WFH. Was lucky to have a boss that supported this and allowed me to craft our role definitions to support this with the global HR but was filling to fight as long as I could for this..

Did a couple of "How to" questions to generate R scripts for basic purposes (e.g. scraping a webpage) and responses were not only descriptive but also covered other nuances like captcha, javascript execution blocking, parallelizing slow responding sites etc. Have not tried with more nuanced advanced questions but looks very promising so far!

So there could definitely be come advantage gained by regular rock/pop drummers in comparison with sedentary folks for sure. This is a great point of comparison. I feel that societal systems (and associated complexities) are more rigid than biological systems in the sense that a biological systems evolve efficient solutions in response to changing internal and external stimuli while societal systems cannot/will not due to man-made laws, norms, expectations etc. The latter (biological systems) shows first order adaptation while the former (societal) shows, at best second and third order adaptations, if it even adapts.
