If you like the idea of a small "dumbish" camera but aren't fussed about all the ZK proof stuff these are quite fun: https://www.campsnapphoto.com/collections/camp-snap-screen-f... I have a few and letting my small kid have a blast while not getting "screen time" is great.

Side effect is I get a small little window into what he "sees" and his lived experience. Going through some of the pics recently was quite beautiful.

Yeah that's a good question, and something we haven't codified.

Odds are that we'll curate quite heavily to keep it interesting and maybe along similar guidelines to hn with "anything that gratifies one's intellectual curiosity" rather than just "anything".

Tinkering with a platform for people who're interested in doing analysis/visualisation of data from professional Counter Strike games.

i.e. instead of them having to download demos, extract them, parse them and then only query data. I want to just have a database available so they get to skip all those steps.

Not gonna make me rich but if I can get it to cover it's own costs I'll be stoked.

There's an interesting dynamic because of the domains, I originally registered with `n1c.bsky.social` because like you say whether I intended to use the service or not it's nice to lock in the name. But then the next level is that it's actually more valuable or makes more sense for me to use it as `n1c.dev` as it's more closely tied to "me".

I am kinda sad that now someone else who isn't me is n1c.bsky but so be it.

I've also had this idea in the back of my mind. A few weeks I ago downloaded the official Github client without really thinking, on the assumption that obviously that's what it would do. Only to be sorely disappointed.

Good luck, I look forward to this existing!

I'm tinkering away on a turn-based web game that will ideally mix Counter-Strike with something like Door Kickers / Frozen Synapse etc.

Ideally a way to let people lay out strategies and see them executed by a team, go on - prove you're the best IGL!

It's slow going between a full time job and family life but really great to expand my mind into something that isn't "web dev".

* Tool that creates Twitter (X?) / Instagram feeds to RSS so I don't have to deal with algorithms etc.

* A turn based game that is essentially "football manager for counter strike" where you control the whole team and their actions in "planning" and "execution" phases.

* I run a Slack community for the South African tech scene, constantly hovering between "I wish I could sell this and move on" and "I really should put in the effort to monetise / grow this".
