Yes shutting down elementary schools for children that needs parental supervision is probably a bad idea since that leads to the need of a parent at home.
Parents who otherwise would be working at hospitals or other important features of a society. But there has been a lot of other options that just passed as you mention.
People like to think we humans are intelligent and smart, but people like that really shows that we are mostly a pack of stupid apes.

Our government was extremely slow to act and didn't shut down anything which let the COVID-19 virus spread rapidly in Sweden and now we have an uncontrolled spread with no testing except for the groups at risk.
The article is basically clickbait, Sweden has one of the lowest amounts of hospital beds and respirators per capita in EU.
We have much fewer ICU-spots than Italy, lower hospital beds etc so we will certainly have a worse time than Italy if we cannot contain the spread somewhat.
The government still hasn't imposed a lot of restrictions compared to other countries. If this is good or bad, will be determined in the future.

My take is that most companies don't need a native app unless they're specifically targeting mobile users and doesn't have a need for desktop users.
So you're better off generally to make the app a web app. If that doesn't work yet, are you sure about that? With web assembly and some new browser apis it's really very few apps left that actually need the native experience.
Sure if you build apps for cars, planes or something like that I understand that you want the native experience. But there is also tons of "native with an asterisk" tools like Xamarin and React Native for example.
Sure the app may be a bit larger but do users really care? With those kind of technologies you can build native for all platforms easily.
The choice really is up to the developers and there is lots of choices nowadays, thankfully.
As with all titles that starts with a question, the answer is probably no.
Sure it may work for some easy cases but most products aren't that simple and as soon as you want to add some extra functionality you basically have to rewrite the application from scratch.

My dad uses Linux as I installed it on his computers. He only uses the browser anyway and are very concerned about security in general. So the choice felt very natural.

It's pretty obvious that the account is a troll account and that they are a big parody of the outrage culture by using the exact same outrage but with a twist.
By even acknowledging any of these outrage trolls they show that they are no better and is in the sandbox with them. This is the level of Buzzfeed, they belong with the trolls throwing sand at each other.

This outrage culture is horrible, Buzzfeed is a heavy contributor which makes them horrible and I wish people would just stop.
I don't fly that often, but I know I'll keep track of whatever they call this plane in the future to make sure I never board such a plane.
If a company would book a ticket for me at one of these I would rather get fired or quit my job rather than board a MAX plane.

Well, it's not me that claims alternative media as fake news. It is mainstream media so that is why I am on the defense of them.
I am not talking about obviously fake sites that is just up to spread one idea or lie. I am talking about regular news sites that operates as smaller teams.
Where I am from, at least, these are considered by mainstream media to be fake news. The government has pressured companies like Facebook to stop their content etc etc.
I think the main issue is that "fake news" is not really a clear definition for anyone and is currently used to surpress opinion rather than anything else.

I have seen alternative news sources correct themselves way more often than mainstream media. That could be because I mainly read those news sources but still, it is a fairly new thing.
The news has become so bad today so every news source is basically fake news. In my country for example, the national television is so obviously biased it's ridicolous.
They are spreading more fake news than most of their alternative media competitors. Basically everyone I know trust these alternative media way more than the mainstream media. I don't know about the US but in Sweden the mainstream media is the one responsible for the overwhelming majority of fake news.
There is a difference though. When these "troll sites" or alternative media sites spreads fake news it's often outright lies but when mainstream media spreads fake news it's mostly about leaving important details out and not disclosing events and information that is relevant. They are experts in taking things out of context and paint the picture they want to paint. They seldom lie but they are still not telling the truth.
I'll even give you an example, Dagens Nyheter (https://dn.se) is one of the biggest media outlets in Sweden. They had an ad bought by China that spread fake news about the Hong Kong protests and pro-China content.

Well, if the data is never leaving your wrist you will never see any graphs and never actually enjoy the great things a training watch gives you.
Sure they may store my personal data and I would prefer if they didn't sell it to any third party. I would also prefer a product which can store information locally on the phone but never sync it to the "cloud".
The thing is, there is no such products because people are stupid and would be furious if they switch phones and their data was lost on them because they didn't understand that the data was only stored locally and never left the device.
I would buy such a product, if it existed, but it don't AFAIK. Fitbit stored the same amount of data as Withings do, it's just because Google bought them that people are worried.
Withings is basically a rival to Fitbit and since you don't want the data to ever leave your wrist, this sort of product is clearly not for you.

I'm just telling you that there are people who do that. What are your sources for that business don't upgrade machines? In my experience, business are often the kind of places that actually do upgrade their machines but of course not if it is macs since they cannot be upgraded.
I have never said anything negative about their recycling program. But it still is more resource heavy and more polluting than simply continued use of a product when you upgrade parts.
For example, how do Lenovo, Samsung or Dell handle this stuff

HP, Dell, LG, Acer and even Samsung manages to do a lot better. Lenovo is also very simple to at least change battery, ram and disk. I know this since I own one and have added memory and disk.
On the Thinkpad versions the battery is located outside and can be switched without even having to open the machine at all.

Yes, by letting me as a consumer change parts myself for the only cost of purchasing the actual part that needs changing or upgrading, the increase the service life of the machine I purchased.
Also, by not participating in this anti-consumer behavior, I can take said machine into a third party service shop and get it repaired there. I don't have to wait weeks for the proper parts to arrive and so on and I can get it fixed the same day.
I am not hating, I am stating a fact. By indirectly forcing people to buy new machines instead of repairing their old ones that often work perfectly well, except for maybe 1 thing that is broken or needs an update, they increase their environmental impact for no other reason than profit on their part.
Apple can do better and Apple have done better in the past.

I used to have Macbooks, I upgraded them with new disks and memory. Today that would not have been possible which is one big reason I would never buy a macbook to begin with.
This behavior is bad for all consumers of their products and should not be defended with anecdotal stuff like "people don't throw away their macbooks" which is easily refuted by going to a garbage site.
