* brand new indie label releases (bandcamp)

* commercial albums variants missing from musicbrainz/discogs

I fixed those two by adding the missing releases to the database beets uses as its data source (musicbrainz.org), and importing the album in Beets afterwards. I still get notifications for edits to entries I contributed over a decade ago!

Vibe engineering 10 months ago

Is "vibe engineering" a correct term for this?

Anything with the word “vibe” in it sounds silly and unserious imho. What’s wrong with something neutral and descriptive like “LLM-assisted programming”? Not catchy enough?

Yes. Always nice to see good, Electron-free native apps for Mac.

Such an underrated app. I’ve used it for everything from network topologies and storage diagrams and even for my kitchen redesign. Works way better than every pricey specialized tool I’ve tried, and the ASCII outputs look way cooler with their old-school hacker ASCII aesthetic! Highly recommended.

It was also the name of a major Italian naval operation to rescue migrants crossing the Mediterranean in 2013–2014, launched after a particularly tragic shipwreck near Lampedusa. The operation was shut down after just one year due to high costs and limited support from the EU, which left Italy largely on its own.

Definitely not surprising hearing a pope using it in a speech.

Thanks for clarifying! It would be helpful to mention that in the FAQ — knowing that the US has no involvement when ordering from the EU would be reassuring.

Same here. Based in the EU, I was ready to buy one on day one, but when I saw the prices listed only in USD I had to stop right there. Just the shipping alone would be $25, plus the uncertainty of duty fees. I hope to see an EU store soon — with prices in EUR, low-cost shipping, and all fees already factored in.

My guess: the trash cans are perfectly visible if you’re looking for them — they just don’t want them to stand out.

I would be happy to pay ~$400-500 up front for hardware that integrates with Apple Health and provides solid, reliable health tracking without a need for a subscription.

That price point would make it unaffordable for the majority of the world’s population. Shouldn’t we try and make health monitoring and fitness tracking more accessible? That was one of Pebble’s biggest benefits.

Never, and I’m not even sure about the ratio — I just never noticed poor contrast on my old Kindle, which I’ve been using for the last 10 years or so.
