I really like the idea of showing dormant areas of a project but also using git history to identify areas which are changed together. This could be useful for AI agents or understanding health of larger mono repos.

What is the most surprising thing you have seen in the data? Who would be buying/using this?

IMO yes. It is less polished but IMO the model is way better. I moved over from claude completely and cancelled my max subscription. Less polished, slower but the results are better and you have to do less steering

You should talk to your account manager but for non ec2 services we have been successful with exchanges by explicitly asking for an exchange for a similar/larger amount.

We had to buy the new reservations first and would then could cancel the old ones

I have an insurance where you have to submit your reimbursement forms via mail. For some reason this has been quite challenging to me (printer, stamp, envelope etc.) and I didn’t submit things.

A provider pointed me to reimbursify which made it way simpler as you pay per claim and it just mails the reimbursement to the insurance. I think this reimbursify may be also helpful in cases like this if you want to speed run your reimbursement submission :).

Note: I am not affiliated with reimbursify but just a happy customer even though the UX&app are somehow clunky. Still better than the other options.

Rapid7 | Boston, MA / Austin, TX / US Timezone | Cloud Optimization Manager / Senior Software Engineer Cloud Optimization

Rapid7 is probably most well known for Metasploit but also develops various SaaS security software. All of our SaaS systems are hosted within AWS and we are starting a new team focused on improving the architecture of our software to be more effective and resilient. This is not your typical rightsizing, adding S3 lifecycle rules, managing reservations. This is a team which focuses on hard problems across on our data processing pipelines to make them more efficient.

You will be working across different product teams and collaborating both with engineering teams, finance and leadership to introduce changes and provide visibility.

You should have great Java knowledge and a good understanding of AWS (AWS pricing would be a plus).

- Cloud Optimization Manager: https://www.rapid7.com/careers/jobs/detail/?jid=R2598

- Senior Software Engineer Cloud Optimization https://www.rapid7.com/careers/jobs/detail?jid=R2599

AWS provides already free certificates. It doesn’t use ACME but also AWS ACM supports auto renewal if the host name has been dns validated.

Initially these certificates were only supported for load balancer and cloud front but with the Secure Enclave you can use the certificate also on an ec2 instance.

They are officiall and we use our own slack instance. We have an internal dedicated slack channel with our aws team i(technical account manager, solutions architect etc) as well. It can be handy just for organising meetings etc but it is really hit and miss depending on your account team. We are on an enterprise plan.

It definitely helped to have a faster turn around time and provide more visibility for people.

Rapid7 | Senior DevOps | Boston, MA, Belfast(UK) | ONSITE | Full-time Rapid7 is probably known best as the company behind Metasploit. Besides Metasploit, Rapid7 provides various SaaS products in the SecOps space.

All of our products are in AWS and believe in Infrastructure as Code and manage up to 6 AWS regions via terraform. We use what makes sense, most of our tech stack is in Java & Python & Go with some Ruby and Rust sprinkled around. On the infrastructure side we heavily rely on AWS, Cassandra, Kong, Spinnaker, Consul, k8s etc. This is a great opportunity to shape and have significant impact on products and how our infrastructure and processes will look like in the future.

We are currently looking for people on all levels to join in:

• Boston, MA
