I guess. I assume the OpenAI vision, in the short term, is for there to be a beefy LLM on top that can call the correct sub LLMs that have more bespoke knowledge about random things, and sort of orchestrate an answer based on that.

I do want to get into that but where I am at embedded computing jobs are kind of rare. I do like programming in C quite a bit.

I guess a bit of both. Managing memory itself is not that interesting as it is just mostly a nice shotgun to shoot yourself in the foot with. I just like the idea of working in a more limited environment where I am forced to come up with perhaps more novel solutions than what my job is now which is just stiching together random libraries and creating unnecessarily complicated SQL queries.

This feels a bit like discussing the new fancy garden hoe as a farm hand as they are making the tractor.

There are three ways to reliably make money in business. Be first, be smarter or cheat.

OpenAI is not significantly if at all smarter than Google, and you can`t really cheat in this situation so therefore it is easiest to be first.

I dont see it making full stack apps from one command that arent your garden variety mickey mouse applications that nobody cares about.

I think for now it will allow people to do more with less, but will not really change things that much. Obviously this will change as the years go by, but for now I am honestly a bit disappointed by gpt4. I was expecting more.

I think in general large software organizations that do not act as a platform for AI will surely die, they will no longer provide anything of value.

Meta still has so much talent, especially in the AI space. I consider them probably just as talented as the deepmind folks, if not more so. They can still achieve world domination for sure.
