Not in my experience. But as I have mentioned in my own top-level comment, I have been fairly diligent about unfollowing the people that produced noise in the stream.

Also, as a Refind user, I recognize quite a few of these people. Definitely here because of the announcement and not fake profiles.

The filtering is basically done by the people you follow. They add what they find interesting and that is a pre-selection.

I am a user for a while now and Refind has become part of my routine.

The biggest part for me is not the repository of knowledge that I am building though - is is the social aspects of the product. A new tab extension allows me to see the links stored by people I follow and the quality of those links has been very high - although I have to be diligent with unfollowing noisy people that do not fit my interest spectrum. The Refind stream has drastically reduced my Twitter usage as I just get my daily dose of inspiring articles and content there.

Almost exactly the same for me. I read it when he was on Chapter 87. Looking forward to read the whole thing from start to finish now.

as far as i understand it the timber bridge was the temporary bridge used to support the construction and then torn down after the concrete bridge was completed.

This bridge was most likely not constructed as a pedestrian bridge. What you see in the back probably is the bridge that replaced this one when a one way bridge did not provide enough capacity anymore and the old bridge was re-purposed as a passenger and probably cyclist bridge.

Based on that it was definitely built for higher load than just a few pedestrians.

Edit: The German language Wikipedia article actually confirms this [1]. It states that the bridge was built for a traffic load of 13 tons and that the new bridge was built in 1993 to increase capacity. The old bridge was thoroughly renovated after the new bridge had been constructed. The bridge actually is well documented and is under protection as an architectural landmark. It was exhibited in the MoMA for a long time.

Based on the amount of prep these guys put into this and the available documentation I don't see why they should not have checked if what they wanted to do is possible.

One reason that has been handed around to explain the no votes is that people do not want more regulation and think that this minimum wage would hurt more than it would help. Also: A large portion of people (90%+) already earn more than this minimum wage.

I am glad that domains are not $0.18. Imagine how many domains would be available if domains were that cheap...

I gather that at that price domain grabbers would just start to register everything (within reason). Then we would deal with some kind of secondary market where domains would be priced by their attractiveness and not sold as a common good (this obviously is already the case for many good domains).

I can stream my library of videos (no Netflix etc. here in Switzerland) from any of my devices to my Chromecast.

I just read through the article and the headline here is a big overstatement.

The article says that according to the speaker of the police of Zurich who test rode a Tesla that the screen is very distracting. Based on the complaint a district attorney is now starting an investigation. Switzerland is one of the countries with the highest density of Teslas and this is an issue that is only coming up now which should mean that the screens passed initial government screening.

The article does raise usability questions and mentions how other cars with large screens handle this problem (e.g. screens visible by the driver stopping to show media while the car is driving, or impeding functionality while driving).

It does have the option to hard encode subtitles when it is converting media and there is subtitle options available but I have never used either of those features.

Plex (https://plex.tv/) was the magic bullet that unlocked the potential of my Chromecast. I can only recommend it and am looking forward what other applications that come out now ill make it even more useful.

For monitoring the article mentions Pingdom. I have found New Relic's server monitoring [1] to be quite nice as well.

The nice thing is how it integrates with other New Relic monitoring for your app and that it actually is free.

When using the two tools I much preferred VWO editor that allowed to setup the tests. Besides that I found the tools to be quite equal.

What if my entity does not produce a product?

Thanks for this. I am definitely looking at how to store explicit knowledge. Tacit knowledge in my mind is a lot about your organizations culture and that needs to be lived.

Luckily being based in Switzerland hosted solutions are not a problem but that is a different story altogether anyways.
