Some ideas to reduce food costs and optimize nutrition using math

That sounds like a fun idea.

Excavation is expensive and toss in an under-utilized garden space- You could probably run for office with those ideas.

Pros of this idea: Looks pretty. A few people can grow tomato's for a fun hobby.

Cons of this idea: More expensive and unavailable for lower income.

To be fair, I'm overtly sympathetic to the lowest income.

I can make ~3-5k/yr on ads, but I make 25x more at my day job, it seems petty.

Although, this seems like bad capitalism, cant grow if I dont charge money...

But I started my website to help everyone(especially the lowest income people).

Very conflicted.

The only reason these were illegal was cronyism.

And before you get excited about the safety we get with regulation. Capitalism has proven with billion dollar companies, we don't want regulated taxis.

Do you have a website/app/product you promote?

Nothing wrong with keeping your friends/followers happy with an occasional positive statement.

This way you can post your true feelings later in a less popular post.

The company is cutting down on cost by playing prospect theory-based games with their employees' salary.

I suppose we cant expect Amazon workers to go into excel and calculate their yearly earnings from prizes?

If they did this, its a non issue.

But I suppose we can't expect Amazon workers to do this... correct?

The whole system reeks of commoditization of labor

You say this like its a bad thing. If you can turn labor into something an unskilled/uneducated worker can do, humanity is more productive. This is the goal of creating processes.

I thought my college education was fantastic, I know chem engineering and became very good at math.

However, due to my college being lazy and never getting ABET accredited in my Chem engineering degree, I cant become a P.E. despite passing the PE and FE tests. Stupid college I suppose. I make tons of money as a degreed engineer though...

Yes, this is why us 10%ers have a responsibility to the 90%.

At the same time, I'm not sure how you can reasonably say things like 'The cost of goods went up'.

If you want to blame government inflation, sure, but the cost of technology has plummeted in the last 10/20/30 years. Food is the cheapest its ever been, cost to move a mile cheapest, etc...

Its not genuine to speak that prices are going up.

make a college education cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, or impose 40 years of wage stagnation in this country.

Lets see if this exaggeration is upvoted or downvoted by HN whales.

Its a very sympathetic argument, but its not true. Curious how our overlords respond.

EDIT: Since I cant post, I'll respond here. Someone posted links saying-

the College Board reports that a moderate college budget for an in-state public college for the 2017–2018 academic year averaged $25,290. A moderate budget at a private college averaged $50,900.

college education cost hundreds of thousands of dollars

According to your source, this is 4x cheaper than the (200k+ that OP claimed)

And the wages have gone up, with inflation(from your link). Not sure if you should blame the government for this, but I don't see anyone in this thread complaining about Fiat currency policy.

Is the website down?

In my area, I just need a successful person.

Lots of 6 fig earners from their day job, cant find a soul doing anything outside that.

I already have a popular website, but I'm having trouble doing the business side of things.

You'd like my website.

I did my entire 'human framing' in a single paragraph on a single "Its January 2017, next steps" article.

It was my worst performing article, now I only release studies.

Anyone have an opinion about Seagate? I had one of their HDD and it died on me within a year.

Not sure if this was a 'one-off' or other people had issues with their quality.

Similar issue with samsung on SSD.

Good Luck, at least you have a degree in software.

My degree was in chem engineering, and despite being a programmer for the last 11 years, I am not being taken seriously.

I have built a dishwasher to prove my embedded systems skills, that's what has gotten me closest to making a jump into specifically embedded systems.

My recommendation- Make a JS/React app. (and tbh, I imagine full stack would probably be best for anyone's future)
