I was just about to buy a new macbook myself but I guess I'm out now. Not sure what else to do except install linux on my current macbook to keep things supported.

My mistake. Hopefully its less than 3-400 megawatts because that is the power needed to get San Diego onto 100% ocean water desalination. Currently 3/4ths of San Diego's water comes from the Colorado. That would be a big deal for everybody else in the Southwest.
I'm relieved to hear it's 138 megawatts instead of 6 to 10 gigawatts we keep hearing about elsewhere.
For 6–10 gigawatt data centers I consider what else that amount of power could support. At current desalination efficiencies, 6 gigawatts of continuous power could produce roughly 11–14 million acre-feet of freshwater per year, comparable to the historical annual flow of the Colorado River.
So a single 6 GW power supply could theoretically generate enough freshwater to replace most or all of the Colorado River's annual flow. The famous river that is stretched thin but supports up to around 45 million people from Denver all the way to San Diego and even Mexico. So the comparison is we can have a single AI datacenter or a drought-proof water supply for a region constantly under drought restrictions.
I'm not saying don't build the other dozen or so 6 to 10 gigawatt data centers everybody keeps talking about. I'm just saying maybe we can do one less of those and use some of that power to support ocean water desalination instead.
My biggest complaint about AI is getting it to lock onto current or specific information has been darn near impossible. Its definitely there in its training data but for the life of me I cannot get it to stop bleeding long outdated or external information into its responses.
Hair dryer? Or something like a mirror from a comfortable distance?
It’s important to note that media companies in China are required to have a Chinese partner who holds a majority stake, typically 51% or more.
My dad logged every single fuel stop with amount, price, odometer, trip when he got his 1990 geo metro xfi. He commuted 120 miles for work and wanted the cheapest new car he could buy to do it in. IIRC the sticker said it got 52mpg highway but he was always bragging that he never got that low of gas mileage in it. We had that car until it was well over 300k miles when it got rear ended.
A lot of people in various countries just charge R-22 and R-12 systems with purified propane. (or regular propane too)
You are supposed to be calm and relaxed for a proper blood pressure reading. Doctors have to find the resting baseline to diagnose hypertension.
System76 Lemur Pro. It works great but it looks, acts, and feels a little too cheap.
I'm curious to see how much ad revenue is gained from impressions to those scam farms that plague what remains of Facebook's actual users. Typically preying on the elderly.

And here I am with a family of 5 who are all home sick with covid right now. :)
There is a famous psychological experiment done by Solomon Asch (Asch Conformity) that demonstrates this behavior.
Its pretty "sus" if you ask me. What else are they doing? Putting mayonnaise in their sopaipillas? ;)

Operations. You still need humans to run everything physical.
I had a bone stock 2007 Acura TSX that basically forced me to run the high beams so oncoming traffic could see the difference. If I didn't every vehicle I passed would be flashing their brights at me. If I did then they'd see it gets worse, so much worse... these ARE the low beams. I legit felt bad about it too...
I had the 80s versions of these, a cox P-51 and a red little toni cosmic wind. Super fun once you could get them started but also crazy messy. Playing with them lead me to build an RC Great Planes PT-40 (0.40), a super sportster, a gentle lady rc glider, and another glider that had an electric motor with retractable blades to launch it. Instead of standard gliders which used a whole roll of rubber tubing as large as a soccer field. Then I got into RC helicopters which are pretty difficult to learn how to fly but absolutely crazy what you could do with them 3 dimensionally once you did.
So much of my kid job money, allowance, holiday and birthday money was spent going through the Tower Hobbies catalog. Good times.
My take is there are always positions open but only if you aren't paying market rates. The MASSIVE spike in whats considered a normal salary after inflation and COL has made it so a bunch of employers are perpetually looking.
If they raise their salaries to become competitive again they will fill their positions. If they keep going with normal compensation from 3+ years ago they will keep looking to hire and losing their best employees.
Depending on the EV you you void the battery warranty keeping it in extreme temperatures like 40 below. And it affects the range.
To be fair, it typically costs about $50 for a block heater which allows you to start below 40 degrees in an ICE.
Whats the solution for EV?
Car buying services will eventually drop them from their list of dealerships if they get enough complaints.
Go through car buying services then report the dealership to the car buying service when you encounter a bait cars and scams.
You say that in reference to this FTX commercial?
I keep telling people you don't drop hundreds of millions on something without glancing at a few numbers first. They had to know something wasn't quite right but infused him with their cash anyways.
50cc is typically about 30mph max. 30-60mph is more the 90-125cc category.
we've had a support ticket open w/ Azure for 9 days now asking "where did this $1k go?". Our Blob Storage "Cool" tier costs upticked, and I'm 99% sure the bill there is just wrong.
Check your partial / interrupted multi-part uploads. If its like amazon the uncommitted blobs won't show up in storage graphs but you'll be getting charged for them just sitting there.
I got a couple LA area law office coasters in my Sonos box.
The most major advancement to EV adoption would be not just standardizing chargers but standardizing battery modules and allowing third party diagnostics and repair.
I believe Bill Gates home is actually around 66,000 square feet.
