Devices on amazon are repurposed tENS devices which control voltage rather than current. tVNS is an emerging area of research and to repeat studies you need to understand the "dosage" which means the current delivered, because the same voltage can result in different currents depending on resistance. The accuracy of the biphasic waveform is also a factor.

Confirms they are not salting passwords and probably storing them in plain text. I think the app doesnt allow special charactors in passwords either. They really should be called out over this "security".

Hello, I'm Michael the founder of foc.us

Domain cost $6k, prototypes exist and yes, site was launched to gauge traction so as to help estimate first production run.

Apologies for the layout issues. Its a responsive design and I haven't quite got the hang of how to make it look right in all resolutions!

Thanks for posting on hn. Please tell me, do you think the general reaction will be that it could fry your brain?

I hate wasting time on sites like ebay, but inevitably get sucked into them every now and then. I'd gladly pay you ten bucks a month to surface stuff I might want, even if I had to do some initial setup work.

For example if you see an X61 with the SXGA+ screen on a buy now price, I want to know (rare as rocking horse poo). Or Lego with at least 30% off is always good for my boy or birthday presents.

You'd need to err on the side of caution, because I'd rather miss stuff than be spammed, but thankfully that makes your job easier!

This is great fun!

Some sort of feedback loop might be useful. I don't profess to understand the 12 steps (and not to trivialise by comparison) but I guess counting the number of successful days of not doing something in a chain becomes reinforcing e.g. when has a smoker actually stopped smoking?

Or alternatively is the payoff a reward e.g. "Dont eat a donut for 6 days if then eat a donut else try again"
