Playing devils advocate:

- If the hack/virus was already installed, a network shutoff won't help much.

- If a car is 10 years old with 10 years of safety updates/patches, resetting to the original firmware might not be a viable solution. But there needs to be a failsafe way of knowing the running software has not been tampered with.

It's used to search their site for products. If you want to buy a "571B Banana Slicer" the easiest way to find it on amazon's site is to use their search.

The search feature being broken translates to sales being close to zero for that time period.

There are people with needs and people with solutions. I understand where you are coming from, but advertising a solution to people that may have that need is not always evil.

There are many times where I am glad I saw advertising: my favorite band is coming to town, a new product that will save me hours a day just got released, the shoes I have been looking for are being sold at 30% off.

I don't want to give up all of my privacy, but sometimes I don't mind finding a solution to something in my peripheral focus.

I don't think the question is biased on it's own.

It would be biased put in the context of "I'm deciding if I should skip college, is that the right decision?" and using those as your main data point to find your answer.

It can be illegal to suggest preference for age in hiring.

The discussion is about apps written natively vs apps written in HTML (not web pages viewed in safari). The only method available to develop an iOS app with HTML is to use UIWebView, which is crippled compared to Safari.

It would be nice if all the parties involved would talk to each other directly to get a better understanding of the miscommunication. It would help for a better outcome of future situations like this.

Email apps should allow pin protection (separate from the phone pin). An email app is a door allowing access to the majority of services people want to keep secured.

Any research into how the download size compares to a similar video asset?

It's not limited to + either. Hyphen, equals, dot are also valid at different email providers.

Some may suggest to convert the email address into it's base form and store it in an extra field. So mike+extra@gmail.com would become mike@gmail.com. Use the extra field to block any new signups that match an existing base address. But this has a high chance of blocking valid email addresses. Different email providers allow different aliases: plus, hyphen, dot, equals. That, combined without knowing which each email service a domain is using, makes this method very difficult to get right.

I like the interactive map at the top but it's annoying when the pop-up bubble moves the pin offscreen. I suggest increasing the size of the header/map (w/ sliding open animation) when a pin is clicked to allow the pin and pop-up bubble to show at the same time.

They are storing it as you entered it in a hash, not storing them as all uppercase or all lowercase. If they stored it as all uppercase, then you could randomly change the case of any letter, which does not work.

They are probably still storing hashed passwords. It would require hashing your login attempt 3 times: 1) exactly you typed it 2) forcing first character to be lower case 3) inverting the case of all letters.

I'm guessing you won't need to start xcode. The apps can be kept in the dock for direct access.

I feel like I am missing something with this case.

The feature of reminding you to do X when you are near Y is part of the Reminders app, not Siri. Siri only has the logic to take a verbal request and add a reminder to that app.

I have used GoDaddy for their DNS services and have been very happy with their customer service. No issues so far after ~2 years. I may research other DNS though, comments of how easily they shut people down makes me nervous.
