Linchpin is actually really good though.

Crap. I should re-read the post again :P
I agree. I've read most of his books but Linchpin has depth to it that the others don't. I've heard people remark they were "confused" with the message and had to re-read the book to digest it. It's just pure unadulterated Seth Godin, that's all.
I think this tagline will explain it:
Manifestos of Future Leaders - Like You
Again, lots of potential here if you play your cards right.
One more thing. Change the name. Change it to: "WhenYouAreGreat.com"
Trust me on this one. Then resubmit to HN. There is massive potential here.
This is pretty cool! Looks good on mobile too.
I'll write mine up in the next day or so. I may send you an email then with some user questions.
To the author of the post: I really respect how you are addressing a specific threat to nature (balloon releases) and taking action in a polite and positive manner.
I'm going to forward this to my daughter) who is very ecologically conscious but overwhelmed at the immensity of the issue) as an excellent example of how they can make a positive change.
Thanks again.
As an adjunct to this article, I should mention an experimental project I launched just yesterday called VOW of NOW. It's a 30 day program that tries to instill meditation as a daily habit by leveraging powerful incentives: http://vowofnow.com
A bunch of people are taking the vow already, and I'm excited and hoping it works for them and is the beginning of a more zen life. We'll see. I welcome everyone to try.
Thank you. Lets do it. I'll zip you an email now.
Thanks guys!
Yeah, I agree. Things don't even get interesting for me until 30 minutes in.
I wanted it to be attainable for everyone though, even novices with "monkey mind".
LMAO! :)
Well, that's a little unfair to say since you don't know me or my motivation behind this project.
The only person that can "fail" you is your evaluator - the person YOU choose to help you keep your vow. Your evaluator must fill out an assessment after your 30 day vow which decides whether you get your refund.
EDIT: Bailing out early from the vow also makes a person ineligible for a refund. The VOW of NOW is for 30 days in a row, no less.
Twenty seemed like the magic number for me after much deliberation, but maybe I could add "commitment levels" or whatever so people can increase or decrease the amount of their pledge.
I certainly can't wait to get feedback from the people who are already taking the vow. Hopefully they achieve greater peace and make meditation a fun habit and will tell others. Then I can get some testimonials for the site.
I'm trying to help and motivate people to make meditation a daily habit using powerful incentives.
VOW of NOW was designed to have as few moving parts as possible. The focus is to meditate so to achieve greater peace and emotional stability. Besides, if you're worrying about money all the time, all the more reason to meditate.
Great feedback. I need to clarify that.
Basically, the Zen Master provides an assessment form for your evaluator to fill out and sign.
The evaluator you choose is the one who decides at the end of the 30 day VOW of NOW whether you have achieved zen mind through diligent meditation practice - and get a refund (or not).
This system provides feedback from a trusted peer, as well as provides a money incentive (your own money).
Thank you. I'll correct that.
Am I the only one who appreciates the work he did to bring us these findings? I've tried Cloudflare before and "underwhelmed" would be as good a description as any. I don't know if it helped at all.
If anything, this post confirms it.
The copy needs work on the front page. Saying "No Errors" makes people think of errors. You don't want that. Try "Perfect Prose" instead.
Likewise, "worry-free" has the same negative effect. Instead, say "Express Service" or whatever.
One more thing, samples. Have a few samples or examples for people to see.
Overall, pretty good. That's my .02.
P.S. I wish you the best with this!
By virtue of you even asking the question, I'd say yes, definitely stay in College.
This is valuable advice that I appreciate. I want to know who I can trust to do business with. Where else can I find this stuff out?
Deleted her Facebook account? Sounds like a reason to rejoice.
Is your project similar to Leanpub? Is your goal to be an alternative to Leanpub? I'd love to see some competition in this space. It's a big space, a big market.
Sure, I was a bit of a sourpuss. I should have said nothing or said it better.
Definitely a tour is needed. Something where I can get a quick lay of the land, without watching a video or signing up. I don't see prices either.
I actually can't give an opinion with so little information.

I'm a tad annoyed that you listed so many books. It loses its meaning. Some of the books you listed are gems, but they are midstream in a long boring list.
I want my 15 minutes back.
I'm not great with math, so seeing your take on it is exciting. I think $29 for the print copy is a good price, and $19 for the PDF (and I wouldn't go much lower than that).
I think after a few iterations of this book, this should be a real money maker for you.
BTW, the language is a bit strong, and may distract from the message. I have two daughters in University but I won't buy your book for them until the language is toned down. There are probably others like me as well. Worth considering.
I don't see the problem here. If you want to give ebooks as a gift, give them a birthday/Christmas card with a unique short URL. The recipient types in the URL, gets a few seconds of a happy birthday song/Christmas carol, then they automatically download their gift.
The key here is to make obtaining the gift as frictionless as possible. The recipient shouldn't need to create an account, fill out a captcha, verify their email, re-log back into the website, upload their profile pic ("wait, are you sure that's you? We don't see a face here"), pick 5 of their favorite books then stand on their head and spit wooden nickels.
