Axon (part of Taser International) | Seattle | Local - relo available

We're leading the charge in developing body cameras and other wearable computing devices for law enforcement. We have opportunities in backend, frontend, embedded systems, and other areas I can't talk about publicly.

Here's a good writeup from Bloomberg on what we're up to: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-07-12/will-a-cam...

During the compaction phase, when a new temp db is installed while the old is being compacted, isn't there a window where messages in the old temp db are not searchable?

Evidence.com - Seattle

At Evidence.com we build technology for law enforcement that is dramatically changing the way police agencies operate. We created the Axon wearable camera system, and its accompanying cloud service Evidence.com, to record video from an officer's perspective and document exactly what occurred during each interaction with the public. We're already managing petabytes of digital evidence for law enforcement agencies, but there is an opportunity to have a much bigger impact on law enforcement with technology. Everything from wearable biometric devices, to predictive policing with big data, to better mobile devices and software for officers to use in the field.

Our tight-knit software team is based in Seattle, and is made up of engineers with a variety of backgrounds at companies like Facebook, Microsoft, and small startups.

I'm an engineer at Evidence.com (a subsidiary of Taser) which makes the cameras (and accompanying software) used in this study. If you have interest in working on technology that makes both the public and officers safer, get in touch (see my profile)! We're based in Seattle and hiring in lots of areas: mobile engineers, web engineers, UX designers, etc.

That makes sense. Just wanted to clarify that you weren't able to measure your organic app store pageview -> install conversion. I thought I had missed some hidden feature in iTunes connect, which is definitely possible.

Makes sense, thanks! Didn't realize they provided mutual friends.

Great service, did a great job on my list of friends. I would love to use this, but having to send over user access tokens is a little scary, even over HTTPS. Have you guys considered licensing this? Would be cool as a heroku plugin...

No, nothing unusual with our standby replica. It's not even clear if it was the standby or our primary that was in the affected AZ.

Multi-AZ RDS does synchronous replication to the standby instance -- I'm guessing something broke in there. Hopefully AWS will update with a post mortem as they usually do. Lots of frustrated MultiAZ RDS customers on their forums.

From their acquisition FAQ: "We’ll give you ample notice before any changes to the service and we’ll share clear instructions about how to move your content to other services. In the meantime, your Spaces will remain up and running without disruption."

Sounds like posterous is not long for this world. This is a bummer, I really like posterous.
