While I agree with that I think one glaring difference is also the money. To really learn you want to test out different designs and stuff. For MechE, this can cost A LOT. For example to build a complex device that does something interesting the prototype parts can easily costs as much as a capable laptop or more. And the first one probably won't work ...
Still, it's a shame I think that the open source community is so week because there is very advanced software out there, e.g. France has open source SW that was used to design nuclear reactors. But the community is just not there.
I’ve read five dysfunctions and can’t say I remember anything about personality types (MBTI). To me it was about persistence honesty and pragmatism. Loved it.
This kind of reminds me of the FMEA and its web structure, which is very useful.
It does share the big weakness with all the other such databases though, very hard to convince people to use it, specially to add and maintain content.

I believe that in this particular case a contractor could be a company of couple hundred (or 1000s) people or so, producing a sub-part of a car. Car makers mostly just put the car together - they do not manufacture parts.
Which begs the question: can Tesla afford to fire contractors? R&D on complex parts takes years, even at Tesla ...

This page is more about constructive interference than it is about resonance. Maybe that's what you are thinking about also?
While I do like the aesthetics of this, as others have mentioned it is plain wrong.
Any explanation of resonance should deal first and foremost with a physical system, not a signal. Having two signals 'resonate with each other' does not make a lot of sense.
Not sure what is meant with multiplying because the author then goes to mention integration which in essence, is adding, not multiplying.
A physical system is able to store energy at specific frequency -- a pendulum will swing for a long time, energy slowly decaying. But if the system is excited (imagine a kid on a swing), with each push, we will add some more energy, which will accumulate each time adding to a large response (resonance). The key part is, we need to add energy at the right frequency, push at the right interval, sing with the proper pitch.

I always thought there's no good place to share interesting bits from podcasts. I was searching for a place where I could discover new podcasts because itunes charts turned out not to be the best place to go (for me at least).
The idea is to post new bits, preferably couple of minutes long, that can then be shared with a link, like: https://triflet.com/view/33-bill-burr-on-sunglasses
An extra benefit would be that the audio content can be discoverable through search engines.
Triflet began as a pet project to learn angular (back then it was in beta) and it kinda dragged out. I might work on it more if it turns out that it can be an interesting idea to other people too.
