My brother was told his heart was healthy after having serious chest pains. The next day, he passed away from a heart attack due to heart disease. This was four years ago, when they were busy dealing with covid patients and in the UK.

Why? Things like this happen all the time and make it to the front page of HN. I've seen people's Google accounts get locked out because of stupid reasons. The IG account has no connection to my Facebook account, and I can't understand how it has affected my Facebook account.

I barely use Facebook to be honest, but it still had all my memories and connections. I've had this account for a very long time.

I'm not addicted, but I've had that account since I was a teen, and it carries many memories and connections. I shared it here, hoping someone had a similar experience and could maybe share if they fixed it.

It's nothing like that at all.

Grass-fed cows still produce methane and require vehicles to transport them when bought and when slaughtered. The fields they are kept in will also need trees to be cleared and plants killed in favour of grass. How does that not add to climate change?

Also, if you look at content creators who share their revenue, they actually make more money from Premium subscribers than they do from ads. So if people want to really support content creators, then subscribing to Premium is the best option.

I owe my career to Flash. I got started because my school would block game sites, and we weren't allowed to play games at lunch time. I used Flash to learn how to make games and then play them in School. If anyone said I couldn't play games, I would respond with "I'm learning to make the game", and they would give me a pass.

It's the reason I got into scripting/programming, and I'm now a web developer.

I set my relationship status to married and it says "Don't cheat!". Such a weird thing to put on a social network. The help section doesn't work and some social icons aren't aligned correctly on FireFox. Also, why is the BAT icon used for basic account?

All in all, a strange experience and I don't think it will be taking over Twitter any time soon.

This brings me back to the days of Moparscape and creating my own private server. I remember joining the forums and sharing my code for colour coding the menus. Great times!

Fable mushrooms are the closest thing to steak-like that I've ever had. It's even better than the fake meat steaks I've found in supermarkets. I was never a lover of mushrooms in the first place, but these don't even taste or feel like a traditional mushroom. It looks and feels more like steak.

For anyone not using Apple devices, DDG has email generation built into their browser plugin. I'm not sure if it's in their broswer app, but I'm sure they will add the feature.

I heard about this yesterday on Mastodon. You can use markdown to format your text which is really nice. However, I feel for anyone not using this app will have an ugly experience if they follow anyone that does.

People can add ActivityPub to their websites/blogs, and it will be a part of the fediverse. WordPress has a plugin for this, and you can add your own implementation as well.

I'd say the explosion of mental health and anxiety is playing a huge part in it as well. My wife and I would have a child if we knew we were stable and able to look after them properly. Also, with the wars, global warming and everything else that's happening right now, why would you want to bring a child into this?

I've gone from using WordPress to static sites and back again because I missed having all the features that WP offered. Even Ghost is simpler but still nicer than any static site I've created.

In the UK, we're told that if someone let's us out, we should always look first to make sure nothing else is coming. Just because you allowed them to pull out doesn't mean you told them it was safe to do so, and they should have still looked to ensure it was safe to pull out.

I agree with your wife and don't think you caused the accident. It was their fault for not being more aware of their surroundings.
