Verbosity control. I typically prefer verbose answers, but when I want a short response I can tack a "V=0" on to the front of my prompt.

  You'll adopt verbosity according to user settings:
  
  V=<level>
  
  Verbosity levels are 0-5, with 0 being least verbose and 5 being most verbose.
  
  If verbosity is omitted, make an assumption based on the prompt's subject matter and verbosity level.
  
  Unless Verbosity is set to 0, please display your settings like so: `(V=1)` as the first line of your response.

FWIW I just picked up FreeCAD a few weeks ago with zero prior CAD experience and I was able to create a few simple widgets for my 3d printer (a shower soap dish and a bottle for my daughter's toy doll) without too much fuss (took a few hours of learning and few hours of actual CAD work). I did have to ask a few questions on the FreeCAD forum (and got a bunch of friendly, helpful responses), but that's to be expected learning complex software like a CAD program.

In short, the latest version of FreeCAD (I'm using 0.21.x) is absolutely approachable for beginners and apparently works well for advanced users. I'm quite impressed with the project!

EDIT: never mind! I forgot to check the "force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" in Settings -> Compatibility. With that checked (Proton 8.0.2) it installed and launched just fine (after launching the "repair easy anti-cheat" once)!

According to my neighbor who is an ER doc, the spike protein stays in your system a lot longer than it does after natural infection. A bunch of people are making this point, and it implies that Facebook is highly reliable as an identity verification authority. I’m not saying it’s wrong, it’s interesting whether it’s right or wrong.

That said, my personal experience with Facebook has been the same. It’s trivial to spot bot/spam accounts, and I typically end up with a high degree of confidence that the identity is real.

Also, personally, after 6 months of iOS I am itching to get back to Android. Why? The notification system SUCKS on iOS compared to Android. It’s impossible to move files between apps. Hard to get any work done on it. Beautiful hardware though!

I felt this so hard! Switched to iOS a few months ago after 14 years of Android (OG G1 user) due to privacy concerns and the lack of a small phone on Android.

iOS applications are almost universally better than their Android counterparts, but when it comes to the OS itself Android is light years ahead of iOS in terms of usability, convenience, and features. The iOS keyboard is such a steaming pile of bull dung compared to Android, and then there's call screening, notification actions, copy history, inter-application shareability, webview->browser state sharing, etc...

Have you watched Fravor's interview on Lex Fridman? As I recall he says he thinks it must be extraterrestrial. I wouldn't say he's being non-chalant about it.

Regarding the projection theory, it would have to be decades old tech since these sightings have been taking place for decades (not just hearsay, officially documented reports from credible sources). Many of these sightings occur around sensitive military areas, especially nuclear facilities, including an incident in the 60s where a UFO hovered over several missile silos, disabling the weapons one by one in the process.

I used to think more like you, assuming it was either crackpot conspiracy theories or actual government conspiracies (projection, etc. like you said). But I've changed my opinion on it since last year. If you haven't taken a look at this stuff recently you should really check out the YouTube playlist I shared above. There's definitely something going on, and debunking it is requiring more and more conspiratorial thinking by the day.

I don't know if you're aware but a lot has changed in the past few years. I used to dismiss is all as whacko sci-fi until last year, but the government is now confirming the reality of unexplained aerial phenomena (UAP a.k.a. UFOs). You should check out the report to Congress last year which detailed 140 incidents, 139 of which could not be explained prosaically, 80 of which were confirmed by eyewitnesses and multiple sensors, and 21 in which "observers reported unusual UAP movement patterns or flight characteristics".

Just properly setting up and maintaining a small k8s cluster looks almost like a fulltime job.

The managed offerings floating around these days (DigitalOcean, AWS, and Google all have them, probably more) are insanely easy to set up and maintain. A managed cluster at DigitalOcean starts at $10/month. I definitely wouldn't recommend standing up your own cluster.

For new projects, I actually find it easier to whip up a deployment.yaml and toss it in my shared k8s cluster (DigitalOcean) than setting up a new VPS where I have to manage updates (including migration when the support window for my OS ends), service restarts, etc.

Github Actions for CI. Makefiles for deployment (`docker build+push` and `kubectl apply`).

A nice bidet! I got the BioBidet BB2000 but any powered bidet with heated water should do the trick (the unheated hand-bidets are okay but really not even the same ballpark). This thing has seriously been life-changing, I feel like an absolute savage wiping with paper now.
