It's not a lie. All you need to do is watch the unveiling.

The most important bit (and reason it's not a lie) is when Jobs demoed scrolling.

"So... here i have all my songs... how do i scroll? I just... take my finger, and swipe".

You can hear the crowd visibly gasp. Every product before was arrow-keypad based and was not designed for touch. Plus it didn't have a desktop level OS, plus the capabilities of a desktop level OS. There was no equivalent.

Always seemed to me like RAM value is much more irrelevant on phones since every app is sandboxed and uses APIs for background operations.

RAM is also always consuming battery, so there are reasons to minimize it. I wonder what the RAM usage efficiency is between iOS and Android in real-world, installed-app-usage usecases.

Surrealism Is 100 2 years ago

Am I the only one who expected a NYT article about how "Surrealism is (100 'real' emoji)"

You sound like "making art" is only the painter in his Brooklyn studio. But it's video game designers, movie animators, videographers, graphic artists, and more that work in agencies and marketing departments of all companies that will be affected.

This applies for literally every country except the US and China.

It's not like any of the other G20 countries (not to mention the entire rest of the world) have anything close to "a US tech sector" or anything approaching the level of engineering/science/product/manufacturing capability of the US.

California is where the entire world population goes to when they wanna make stuff.

As others have said, SMS is fully interoperable up to and including groups and MMS.

Your problem comes from that fact that Apple cleverly introduced way more capability in the very same Messages app, for other Apple users only.

None of the complaining like yours would be happening if Messages was left as SMS only and apple had shipped a separate iMessage app, which is exactly what Whatsapp is. But there's Apple's forte. They have Bluetooth, but buying Airpods automagically works better.

I also 1000000% guarantee you that the designers spent a LOT of time analyzing the green bubble colour to make very it a slightly (but not too much) aggravating green. There are many many more pleasant shades of green.

Edit: OK yeah, a designer explained it here: https://uxdesign.cc/how-apple-makes-you-think-green-bubbles-...
