Jack Ryan and Reacher are pretty good.
Would you still need more financing if you cut costs enough? Are you able to cut costs enough to become profitable, cashflow positive and still grow revenues?
It wasn't omitted. It was covered in the keynote. It's also on their website:
Let friends know how remote you go.
If you’re on an adventure without cell service,
you can now use Find My to share your location
via satellite so friends and family know where you are. When they don't charge money for it and you're not using it (so no views for ads), they aren't getting paid and it's costing them storage money. How is it hard to see that they are giving it away for free?
Apple with settings ads
Say more?
Imagine telling someone in 2003 that this was going to happen. It would have been seen as a joke (as some are seeing it today) or something that absolutely wouldn't happen.
If this is not a joke, this seems like the best indicator that Tesla is meeting it's mission to "accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy."
Tip of the hat to Elon.
Why is this on "Hacker News"?
There are numerous comments that essentially are saying "he shouldn't be doing this." That's shortsighted. You don't have insights into how this is working in practice for them. He, together with the other people at the company, have built an offering that is serving and satisfying millions of people. If there are problems with it, they are his problems to deal with. Why are you so hot and bothered about it? Focus on building your own cool shit. Be productive.
Of course we are ... more involved in ad tech
Not all tech is ad tech. Please don't lump all tech into your statement of "get paid to sell out those beneath us for a dollar".
To be fair, it's not just for delivery. It's for bringing the restaurant customers/revenue.
`shirt -stripes` gives the type of results one would expect. I guess we haven't reached that level of natural language processing yet.
Without "sales leeches", many very successful companies would not be able to employ the large amounts of engineers they employ.
Not all sales professionals are used-car slime-balls. I've known many sales pros that really get to understand the needs and problems of a potential customer and aim to truly help them solve their problems. That's the only way lasting relationships get built and repeat business is earned. It's hard work, requires talent and is filled with constant disappointment. I can appreciate someone who is able to be successful in that type of world.
And no, I'm not a salesperson. I'm an engineer.
Yes, but the goal should not be to treat everyone fairly. The goal should be to help people get through this crisis.
anyone on here has good recommendations for this area
Never Eat Alone by Keith Ferrazzi
Pardon my ignorance on the topic, but why would moving a business into new areas be considered lucky?
I wouldn't consider Apple moving into phones as lucky. Would you?

Give me an ad-free option. I'd rather pay a monthly fee to fund the BAT that gets distributed to content creators than to view ads.
It says that right on the page:
Keep in mind, keyword searches return only ads related to politics or issues of importance. You can try your search again and select from the Page results.
AI+Humans
Sounds like just marketing bull. It sounds like they have libraries and they are using them to spin up apps faster. That might have value if the libraries are good but that's clearly not AI.
You likely could to a limited extent but artistry would not be their core competency.
Resources, even at a semi-large company, are finite. Teams have limited head counts and usually an ever increasing list of asks from Product team. Being efficient is not optional.

Did you end up going to some conferences? There are serious problems with many conference apps. Even AWS Re:Invent's app had major problems this last year.
If you're wanting someone to do something (like download an app), you need to motivate them to do. This isn't about marketing. It's about delivering value.
Is your app currently only delivering value to the organizers and not really much for the users?
Sounds like you need to talk with these users.
Have you made progress in trying to understand your customers and their problems?
You mentioned that 1 or more customers in the pilot are paid-customers. If someone is paying you, either they are forking out the money in the hope that you're going to solve a problem for them or they are forking over the money for other reasons (ex. as a favor to you or due to past relationship.)
Do you understand why the paid pilot customers were willing to pay you?
Stand for part of the day.
My typical cycle is 1 week. 2 feed days. 5 days of depletion.
* Lots of water.
* Accept that you're not going to be 100%.
* It gets better over time. After 2 weeks, I didn't even feel drained on a 25g carb day (while carb cycling.)
* Carb cycling keeps the impact on work to one day.
* Work out in the evenings so you're not drained for the full day.
* Fats can give you a lot of energy if you use it well. i.e. eat good fats (ex. salmon, coconut oil, etc) and eat it evenly throughout the day.
They have their own Function As A Service offering:
Both "cloud" and "serverless" are cheaper if capacity needs are opaque (high growth or unpredictable swings.) If you have predictable capacity needs, I agree that dedicated servers are a better value.
