I could not agree with you more, it amazes me the mental gymnastics some will go through in the quest to convince themselves otherwise of something wholly obvious. Sure, you could take the CCP’s word for it (because their behavior is not at all suspicious and they have a great track record when it comes to human rights). And sure, to some that might hold a lot of weight. However, even if rumored, don’t you want to be the one that doesn’t support genocide regardless?

Ya and it’s amazing that people think it can be easily replicated. To get to that level you must be the one percent of the one percent of gamers typically. Most coders can be “professional” with a boot camp these days.

Are you a pro League player? Because if not this is irrelevant. Even the difference between leagues is substantial. And I have played since beta if that makes a difference. Sure I am not bad and I get that I could auto-pilot. But I doubt either of us are all that good; I certainly am not a pro, despite playing for a decade+

I humbly disagree, and if you have not competed at the pro level in an RTS (Starcraft is another absurdly hard game that requires hundreds of actions a minute) then I believe your view is skewed. When I code all day there are tasks I can auto pilot. Rebase from gerrit, an amend, maybe hunting down answers on Stack Overflow. Sure, I get that coding != video games. But the skills Tyler has or someone who plays as a pro Star Craft player are Masters at a craft that takes way more than auto pilot. In many cases it is physically demanding too and I think you’re giving the wrong impression. It’s not a game at that point, it’s a profession, and an absurdly tough one at that. Machines can beat people at chess. Our AI had struggled for years to beat humans at Star Craft. I find that inspiring, and am in awe some people can push themselves so hard to be that good.

Wow, I love this edit, I’m agnostic myself but that seems rather neat. I remember reading about how Warren Buffet, despite not being particularly religious, has read the Bible like 7 times or something. I always found that rather interesting. Thanks!

I was fortunate enough at uni to have a professor who edited Dick’ Exegesis and had a wonderful talk on it. During the process, which took many, many years, he said it would often become a task not to get so wrapped up in it all. At moments biting and prescient; others unreadable, schizophrenic runoff. I imagine if he struggled through it perhaps some of it is simply unreadable. I know he mentioned having to work with PKDs estate and of the excerpts I have read it does have a much different feel then his other works. The professor was brilliant, turning me on to other treasures like William Gibson. Just thought I’d share, cheers!

I needed this. Thank you. It’s been all rah rah on my side of things but I totally agree. I want to make an impact on the world and with this accelerator interview, I have somehow landed a dream come true, but I think my biggest risk is not staying humble and realize that I don’t need to be someone else or waste time worrying about competition. So my partner has been getting really deep into transcendental meditation and it has really been seeming to help with him. I just tonight had him show me some of his methods and just tried to focus and my breathing and I’ll tell ya what, there has been great advice throughout but this has potential for sure. The meeting is soon so I’m going to for sure try breathing deeper. Thanks!

Sadly I have had great results but in the end have made a conscious decision to avoid benzos, simply too alluring. Thanks for the advice though, definitely a game changer.

This is great and I talked to the other founders today and this is about what we are going to do. My wife is actually a partner as well, she is a chemical engineer helping with the hard science I am just a coder, but we may create an LLC to hold the shares with no cliff that we got at par price and then the rest will vest (like 75%) just to ensure investors aren’t spooked by a shareholder having so many unvested shares in a nascent but growing company. Wow, absolutely fantastic mate! So cool; a friend and I tried our hands at making a game in Unity called Galactic Putt a while back, with a similar riff, but sadly the physics got the best of us and we never finished. It is really inspiring to see someone with a one man team put out something so stellar. Keep up the good work!!!

Apologies, I should have been more clear. I have two companies, however one is the main focus (the enterprise one) whereas the other c-corp is a mobile gaming platform I do in my free-time. You are right though, there will surely come a time where hard decisions must be made.

Wow, yeah, this. It is the main reason I want to start taking on funding. At the same time, there are plenty of companies that do that and still don't succeed. I believe (perhaps foolishly) that a handful of motivated, intelligent people can slum it for a bit can accomplish much more than a colossal heap of money can (and whatever trappings come along). I just sometimes get irked by all the money being thrown around on. . . well, I am not all that sure some times. Anywho, I digress. Thanks a bunch for the advice.

It sounds so cheesy, probably because it is, but I want to make nice software that people enjoy and I have a vision that I feel is the right direction (after plenty of valuable feedback from others) and I guess I just want to make sure I am not shooting ourselves in the foot one way or the other. If I made a metric ton of chedda in the process, I wouldn't sneeze at it. That said, doing right by our customers and being a decent person who respects privacy and critical feedback takes precedence [I hope; people change].
