Seems like op can’t acknowledge that they are wrong when they are actually right.

As many other things you may never actually do it, but it’s good to have that option.

but you'd have to tell the customers the reason for the sale. Otherwise they would feel cheated and would demand the new version.

And revealing release month before actual release has its own shortcomings...
