It's actually really simple. An ability to see the world accurately was never a necessary condition for survival, so long as the model in your head was good enough to assure you could eat and reproduce.

Did you just read this in the latest Scott Adams post? I also agree with the way he is framing these issues. The Guy is a master persuader after all.

Why polítics isn't been flagged anymore?

Shouldn't this thread be flagged? HN, HN...

Is the second job "official"? Here in Brazil, no office rule can force you to disclosure to your employeers of other gigs (unless you work for government). Here, you sell 8 hours of your day and what you do in the free time is up to you (neither a NDA can change this).

Top down narrative. Reddit CEO didn't troll the trolls, it was a huge mistake that can put in check the entire company. TechCrunch could write 99 better stories about this issue than this piece of propaganda.

It also reminds me Hillary campaign (and their MSM friends) calling half of US voters deplorable.

Meteor didn't catch up with the expectation. Arunoda is a great developer, the biggest name in Meteor Community. I don't see a bright future ahead for them.

To me, both HN and Silicon Valley also propagate racism and fascism. It wasn't yesterday that all news about tech was the lack of diversity? When did Silicon Valley switched place from cause of the problem to be the cure? There is a long road ahead.

But the agenda of HN feels to me like "have productive, civil discourse, in a generally pro-technological advancement vein"

I agree with this. That is why I'm here. But here we also have a lot of censorship and imposed moral and behavior rules frequently unfair toward some types of discussions or arguments.

The JS ecosystem is nowhere near .NET's. And C# is way more enjoyable

Really? This reply looks like a sponsored one. M$ is investing high in content marketing.

Why do .NET Core seems to be a game changer? M$ is nowhere near to be a game changer in anything, imo.

EDIT: no reply, a lot of downvotes. A lot of people love it, nobody use?

Lol. A software Engineer that worked with her would write a really fun reply. This way of thinking is a the kind of bs we hear from guys (and girls) in a suit. A fun experiment is to change "software Engineer" for "civil Engineer" or "Chemical Engineer" having a "business person" saying how to work. It is awkward how them don't feel stupid.
