One of my proudest achievements in that scene was gaining the rank of Elite Torrent Master. I had terabites of music that I was seeding. I built a script that automatically found candidates for transcoding, downloaded them, transcoded them and created a new torrent. It's still up on github and people are still using it for RED afaik. It's been ages though since I've been active in the scene. I stored all of my media on raid0 drives so when that died I kind of just gave up. I don't know who but someone leaked my semi-public books archive on the datahorders subreddit and they hit my disks so hard that they just gave up on life. I still hold a grudge all these years later.

Yeah same. The structure makes no real sense and when digging into the code it reads like I'm the first human to look at it.
Gemini writes pretty shitty code in my experience. We tried it out for a grand total of half a day at work before deciding it wasn't worth our time and switched back to Opus.
ChatGPT writes like it's life depends on it and refuses to correct its own mistakes. It'll figure out a way to write 4k lines for something that could've been done in 500
There are plenty of people who are willing to work for the government and the pay is pretty decent. But their stack is often Microsoft based and their IT is located in Apeldoorn.
Who in their right mind would want to travel all the way to Apeldoorn.
A good example of internal development in the government is the police. They have internal development teams.
For some reason vibe coders with no development background consider him a god. But all he is is a charlitan at best
I wish it was still just iDeal. The rebranding was done very poorly and the things that they added like accounts are just bad ideas
Half life 3
That'd be really appreciated. For me it just kept repeating the same phrase or just started reflecting on the prompt itself for a sentence or two after which it started spouting random nonsense like a pasta recipe.
it's one huge grift. The fact that people (or most likely bots) in this thread are even reacting to this positively is staggering. This whole "experiment" has no value
I don't understand the relevance
I'm personally especially interested in 'Latent Reflection'. I've tried to make something similar never got to a point where I was happy with the output the AI model gave me.
performance for a tool like this isn't really a huge priority imho. Libraries should have compatibility as a priority over performance unless it's the stated goal.
Is only bun supported or also regular node?
Why are they undesirable though
afaik PostNL has to make a profit and the USPS can operate at a loss.
Classic Dutch privatization
More and more projects are moving to Codeberg, and I'm wondering; at what point will a critical mass be reached? Or will we end up with a fragmented ecosystem?
kinda funny that I recognize a bunch of those laptops from people I know
The only upside of that game was that I taught myself assembly because of it. Even though it never released
Yep that also works, I've made a proof of concept for that ages ago https://github.com/Mechazawa/pixelAntiAdblock/blob/master/ap...
You can't sell the platform if it's heavily integrated. Whoever buys it will just have to rewrite it from scratch then.
Scrolljacking is a bad idea in general https://codepen.io/gunderson/pen/GJJPpV
I'm getting nauseous from this website.
but it doesn't have any social media platforms with the reach that American ones do. A lot of people I know don't bother having more then one social media account. I don't know what you mean
And one that doesn't use >1GB ram when idle
Discord has a huge image problem. I won't touch it with a 10ft stick or even mention it in a professional environment. Besides that it's very annoying that it's a complicated mess that has no real focus.
How come Slack is worth $7.1B? I can't imagine they produce that much value or have a high enough revenue to warrant this valuation.
SEO is snakeoil
"Chinese Man" would've been better yeah. I had to read it a twice before realizing that it wasn't about a China-themed super hero.
What relation did Pr0 have with coinhive?
Writing and hosting this yourself on a different machine is very little work.
