Well I have good news for you. It’s in production, there’s a teaser and release date.

This so much. If only they ditched both node styles and made Nuke style nodes but with horizontal flow by default maybe. The Color page nodes are so so wonky.
Seems like a cool idea but it's kinda hard to tell without seeing a whole movie or two fully broken down into those scale steps. Maybe it's there behind a paywall.
And yet it's still not all roses in the actual everyday life given that we have higher prices than Germany (food, phones, computers) while earning 3x less. But it surely beats how we had it the 90s.
Looks like they are acknowledging the gap and trying to offer something usable before they close it. B60 is still 8x weaker than a 5090 in real compute, which is sad
That would be both feature completeness of the implementation and also some kind of a native USD authoring mode (editing the structure and layering multiple USD files properly), like Houdini Solaris or Nvidia Omniverse. For now Blender can’t even read/write MaterialX properly. (I’m not an insider though)
What’s really groundbreaking is the amount of ignorance displayed in this video. Also, I’m curious how long will it take for blender to reach performance parity with OpenGL. Houdini has been taking a few years now and VK is still 2x slower then opengl apparently.
Yes.
Hmm. I’m using an AIO cooler, a 3090 and a 1600W platinum psu - might be a bit inefficient. I remember unplugging the PSU and 3090 and plugging in a 650W gold PSU — the system drew 70W IIRC. That’s a wild difference still!
What's your idle power consumption for AMD vs Intel if you don't mind me asking? I'm getting avg 125W for my 13900k build, measured at the wall and it mildly bugs me when I think of it, I thought it'd be closer to 80. And power is very expensive where I live now.
This is cool and all, but it's been 10 years since 4K monitors. Where are (affordable) DUHD ultrawides and why there is not a single 42 inch 6K or 8K panel in the entire world?
Well, you could change your user agent string.
Was this at Ubisoft maybe? I remember their presentations, some really amazing tech a decade ago... Never seen anything as straightforward to use in off-the-shelf software since.
I'd say it's even worse, since for rendering Optix is like 30% faster than CUDA. But that requires the tensor cores. At this point AMD is waaay behind hardware wise.
Fun fact: ZLUDA means something like illusion/delusion/figment. Well played! (I see the main dev is from Poland.)
Would be nice if they recommended a capture card that can actually take advantage of iPad's native resolution. The one they recommend is 1080p. That's good for Xbox, not productivity.
Not just the UI, also the hotkeys! I immediately went for pressing Shift-A... awesome!
Blender's UI is rendered with openGL and it's glorious. Photoshop is getting really slow in my opinion since 2015. I see all those Chromium processes running with it and wonder just how much of its stuff is being replaced with this slow shitty code. Everything 'modern' that has rounded edges feels just slow and laggy.
I compared it (german-english) to google translate and it's on the level of how google was 7 years ago.
In Poland you don't need to carry one, I've been walletless for like a year now. It's a shame the driver's database is not EU-wide - that would be awesome.
I use Windows 10 21H2, a bass station 2 as a midi controller and I have like 5 audio output devices. Only one of them is the real one, which is my audio interface, so with no way of choosing the output there will be problems. Wondering if there is an easy way to use ASIO with js-based apps?
I ended up a DAW to get midi from the keyboard and route to both a VST and to a virtual loopmidi port - which I prefer to have nice sounds.
Seconded, this looks great! Didn't have time to do more just than a test to see how it works, but I think I ran into a problem in fifths mode when the second key of the interval was outside the span of my two octave keyboard, so there should be perhaps some sort of an octave limiter setting. Oh, and I don't have any sound in the app, but I use VSTs anyway.
Also, would be great to have triad inversions. (larger chords aside...) I'll surely do some learning when I get some free time.
Check out Hybrid, it's the most full featured GUI codec tool I know. Amazing tool for video pros.
Thanks for reminding me this one! I just love this movie, seen it like 15 times... I honestly think it's pure genius.
I'm a 3D artist doing 3D animation (non-character) with Blender. I've used Max, Maya and Zbrush in the past, but it was a long time ago, since then Blender has been all I needed. I probably should learn some C4D and Houdini to be able to get a better job...
I see no ads on my Firefox with ublock and privacybadger ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It's implemented in affinity photo. You get realtime feedback- it's pretty amazing.
OK cool, but the commonly used Photoshop's content aware fill, which they supposedly target, isn't even using any ML. They don't know what they're doing or what? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PatchMatch
