The only "innovative" thing about this is- its not flash. The reason its not flash is because front end developers, hate flash with a passion that borders, frothing at the mouth psychosis. They hate flash because very simply it takes work off of their desk. At the end of the day, a client still won't want to pay twice as much for something that works on half of modern browsers when in reality his high school kid could have done it in 10 minutes with flash, (unless its for mobile). Its the same stupid argument I've heard for the past 10 years, but the difference today is mobile platforms won't support flash (or it just sucks on mobile) and there is finally an opportunity to kill flash. That pretty much sums it up. Haters will hate, client will still pay for flash, flash sucks on mobile, lame slide shows are not innovative.

Can someone please explain- would setting up a book store to allow users to sell their books through the app, giving apple 30% and taking 5% for yourself, violate the terms of apple in-app-purchase?
The problem I am having-
1 can't sell the app itself, 2 the app doesn't live on the phone screen (unless they make a bookmark-button) 3 even though its 30% users are already tied into the store which lowers the mental barrier to purchase, meaning you don't have to get their credit card info. 4 no push notification
I just don't agree NIH programs "damage the economy" and I've provided concrete examples of how it has done the opposite. Also I am pretty sure any grant writing process is definitely based on merit. We'll have to agree to disagree.
Because its paid for by taxpayers doesn't make it automatically a bad idea either. Many things you use on a daily basis are thanks to government / taxpayers, including the internet you are using to read this.
I sense a little cynicism here. I currently work for a startup and most of their capitol was NIH funded. We are currently releasing 3 or 4 commercial products this year. We are hiring like crazy. I understand a certain distrust of government but I think there is a disservice to assume everything government touches is corrupt (or at least 100% corrupt) You really don't have to look further than the scientific community. The limitations I've seen from NIH funding most people would agree with, like we can't share private data specifically about users.
i am 38 and remember photoshop 1. Around 5.0 I was great at it, now I don't bother to keep up. Back in the day you would keep 20 versions of one document- no layers. I wonder how many people realize how much of PS is taken from pre-press, channels and mask are essentially rubylith and overlays

re defining it by allowing people to communicate with animation as well as text. I guess it would be more accurate to say I am trying to open another channel of communication or providing a new method of communication. Ideally I am allowing anyone to create a message with animation and use that to send communication.
