One option is to start a small business to provide a product or service. It is permissionless so it won't matter if you have a degree or not. You can also leverage resources such as capital and human talent later so that you don't need to worry too much about being smarter than average. Most rich people or business owner aren't smarter than average. You do need to be relentlessly resourceful though as written by PG.

Alternatively, it is never too late a go back to school and get a degree. Bootcamps may also work. Try to build (open source projects) or generate content (like teaching people to code in youtube)

I think the better way is to come out with a lot of interesting real world scenarios that require calculus or other math. Math doesn't get created out of a vacuum. It was created for a reason. I think if we can avoid diving into abstractions too quickly and focus on specific real world problems and lead the kids step by step to the solutions , that would be more interesting.

I feel like these no-code companies are a bit ahead of their time and focusing on the wrong audience. Instead of focusing on end user/business user, they should focus on developers. Please create tools (code or not) that make it really easy and fast to create CRUD apps for developers. There hasn't been good ones available. Empower developers first. Last time I check, no business user would want to create an app no matter how easy it is.

My head was getting dizzy and had to stop mid way. People were smart enough to create animations but not sensitive enough to know whether it is too much.

My company is using SAP so it is very familiar to me. But before I joined my company, I have never heard of SAP. There are some good industry process knowledge that gives them an advantage and the software is good once you get used to it. But it can definitely be 10X better (there is a big opportunity to make it easier to customize or integrate with other software) . However, once you become their customer, the switching cost is very high even though there is better software in the market. That makes it difficult for startup to break into this market.

I don't understand why whenever there is a discussion about aging research, people always bring out the problem of us living forever or till the end of the universe. I mean how about just double or triple our lifespan which is nothing wrong and we still have no idea how to do that. I think maybe the reason why so many people is against it is because of religion.

I think there is a real demand for having a quick drag and drop for UI components and dive into code for other changes. I have searched and searched and so far I haven't found anything as good as VB6. It is 2019 now.sign!

Most of the times, of single or multiple choices, the choices could be long. Basically, I will prefer to have search autosuggest on a choice and select it. It will be great if the choices can be fetched via api or something like that. So far , no forms satisfy this requirement yet.

An incredibly great post. Thank you for sharing. I have always wanted to take risk to found a startup, but since I am in Myanmar, I will need to claw my way up for a while to build up safety nets before I can take big risks. It is a great reminder that I cannot lose myself in a comfortable & stable career/lifestyle. Focusing too much on short term gains will blind me for long term achievement. But the risk is real especially for people in developing country so I will need to proceed carefully.

People come out with all kinds of wired solutions to the facebook problem. But the most important question to ask is not whether the new solution solves facebook problems. More importantly, you need to ask is there a demand of the new solution. 99.99% of the time, the answer is no. Why would anyone pay to post message when they can post for free in other social networks. It will never go mainstream unless there is a real demand and little friction.
