I'm still amazed about the quality and responsiveness of this web tool compared to the real Photoshop. Just starting Photoshop CC is longer than opening Photopea + a quick edit + export.

That's right. I forgot about the ability to pre-download the game before the official release, which might help the servers. That also remove the joke "Patch day 1 (of the size of the game)" which I always found ridiculous but became a standard practice.

Having the game of that size is the only excuse I accept for not releasing a physical version, but because no blu-ray will handle it, it starts darker days for game preservation. I love the fact that I will be able to undust my old PS4 in a couple of years and play GTA V without relying on the PlayStation Store. But we knew these days were counted.

Excuse my silly question, but what's the point of pre-buying a game, if it will only exists as a downloadable copy. I get you want to gift it for xmas, but for the rest of players? The point of pre-sale is to make sure you will get one when it comes out?

Thanks, sadly it didn't pick-up on HN The diff per region/state would be fantastic! The stats are shared, nothing "per user". At first I just wanted to see if it would trigger some interest. There's a huge room for improvements, your suggestions are great

Yeah it comes with a compromise. Tbh, if it was an option I would sacrifice a tiny bit of my screen to not have the notch while keeping a uniform bezel.

Meta seems like one of the few large tech companies where if the whole company vanished, the world would be purely a better place.

There’s another solution, much faster, it’s to use Screen Time and have your partner own the passcode. I hold my partner’s phone passcode and it’s fantastic to control when he’s allowed to doom scroll

+1 SO MUCH After two years I couldn't understand them. Sometime one notification appear, then it disappear, is it in the bottom stack? No, it just disappear. Also when there's many of them grouped, will tapping expand them? open the app? It's random.

But mostly, on Android, having quick actions on notifications. Receiving a useless email? The "Delete" action is right there. Boom, done. Move on.

In retrospect, I think it's why I find Android so functional. Just from the notifications you can do everything. No need to unlock your phone and end up distracted.

I just switched from an iPhone 13 mini to a Pixel 9 Pro, and it's tough to admit but I can do so much more with my thumb on a big Android than a tiny iPhone. Mostly due to the back gesture always works (never need to tap the top left corner in some cases, and also being able to return to the 3 button navigation) and being able to pull down the notifications by sliding down on the main screen.

Pixel 10 Phones 11 months ago

I remember my iPhone, on my desk, turning up because of a notification, then hearing the vibration for a failed FaceID unlock. This very smart system wasn't able to understand that it was looking at a ceiling. So I always ended up having to type my password due to too many failed FaceID attempts. FaceID was highly ranked in the reasons why I disliked iPhones.

TouchID all the way. On an iPad, it's fantastic.

As erwinkle mentioned, these animations use anime.js If you want to build something but don't really know how to do it, I would suggest the following:

1. Build the visual content in an SVG with Inkscape. It should be easy for you to build the layout with assets/item to animate. Don't forget to group items and set names so you can reference them later.

2. Once exported, insert the SVG in an HTML page and add anime.js. This library will let you animate the content you just created (you should be able to reference your named items from Inkscape and animate them). The learning curve might be tough depending on your experience regarding animation (or CSS in general).

Good luck :)

Oh yes right, this is very silly I know. It's only because changing the dimension values on touch screen is awful (need to focus on the input field then then tap the number). While on desktop, you can scroll on the input field to change it's value, which is more convenient.

Sadly, I made the "Pinch to change dimension" only on touch screen because it handle the pinch direction, so it can update x/y independently or together. While on desktop, the scroll would scale x/y together only.

However, glad you had fun with it :)

Thanks for your kind words. About the trackpad I didn't manage to implement the pitch to zoom which is desperately missing.

1. That's a good point, I didn't implement this shortcut. In my head, I assumed it wouldn't be useful because the editor only let you do vertical lines, horizontal lines and circle quarter. So making a straight line is pretty easy. If it was pure freeform like on Illustrator, it would be vital. 2. Maybe it's related to the editor only letting you do vertical/horizontal/circle quarter, right?

Thanks, yes at first I was thinking of making it working on touch devices only. However, I'm a bit confused about your 'pinch to change' comment. If you want to zoom in/out you will have to use CTRL + [-/+]. Do you mind explaining a bit more? I feel like Im missing something here. Thx

It's surprisingly good! Same experience as using VSCode on my computer. I'll definitely start using it for quick edits, then probably end using it for normal development.

Curious to see how the developing experience will evolve in the next few years.
