I have a few years older model Mazda 3 that has a similar system, although much less stylish. I like it for two reasons. I don't glance down when adjusting the radio or checking GPS and my eyes stay more or less on the road. The knob in the center console is a very intuitive control system that doesn't require very much attention or reaching to operate. The whole system is clearly designed to offer the full functionality of Android Auto or Apple Car while minimizing the possibilities distraction.

Edit: Now that I think about it, the population is probably less than anyone. Anyone that can get a goods night rest can learn how to lucid dream, and anyone that routinely enters REM sleep has a decent shot at it.

I've had over 100 lucid dreams, although none recently. My crowning achievement was summoning Socrates that would teach me things using the socratic method (only asking questions). The thing that blows my mind today is I was able to take away real value from these conversations even though I supplied both the questions and the answers.
Why didn't I use it as a personal holodeck to escape reality? Reality is a bigger, more interesting, and more exciting place than inside my own head.

A healthy amount of sleep is a great target and measure, just like staying within a healthy weight range and lots of other biometrics.
I think Goodhart's law applies to people gaming the system or juking the stats to inflate a measured number causing the number to lose meaning. It doesn't matter what you do, getting enough sleep is important.

King County has one of the highest minimum wages in the United States. There are several organizations giving out clean needles in King County. We are building new housing at a very rapid rate and many areas of the county were upzoned just this year so we can build even more housing.
To me your comment is asking for us to do more of what we are already doing, even though what we are doing is barely slowing the growth of homelessness. There is no amount of taxation on businesses the city, county and state can impose that will provide a home for everyone that needs it. This approach will not produce positive change.

I was in the beta test for cangoroo. I booked 30 minutes, planning on going 2km in the time. When I was near my destination my cangoroo tokens depleted and the locking mechanism engaged. This caused me to abruptly stop bouncing and fall down, breaking an arm and causing large concrete scrapes. A bystander called an ambulance. My health insurance company is currently engaged in a legal battle with cangoroo and it looks like that is going to cause a downround as investors are cooling. /s

If we could quantify adversity we could calculate the percentage out of all human suffering that occurred during the Trail of Tears or determine the single most resilient living person.
I'm not saying we should consider adversity in college admissions. I'm saying we shouldn't quantify human emotions and experiences.
It's hard to say because the mechanisms for the mass loss are not fully known. In fact, we are just guessing that mass loss actually occurred, and how much did occur. How would we have measured the mass change of the reference kilogram? By definition the reference kilogram was the most stable quantity of mass we could have generated at the time, and the most well protected quantity of mass for the duration of it's service as the reference kilogram.
I think mass loss is probably proportional with either the surface area or the surface area of the handled portion. This is just a hypothesis based on what I suspect the mechanism for mass loss is (friction from air resistance and being touched). Now that we have a more accurate way of measuring mass we could repeat the experiment of trying to preserve a quantity of mass, even doing different variations based on quantity, material, conditions, etc. Such an experiment would be relatively expensive and take a long time for good results, but maybe someone curious with funding will do it.
EDIT: The idea that we could have preserved a gram of material, while measuring it's mass every 40 years, for the last 130 years while it only lost 5 picograms (1/1000th of the estimated mass of the reference kilogram lost) is so crazy I can't believe it.
Weight is a measurement of force. Mass isn't.
The reference kilogram is estimated to have lost 50 micrograms over it's lifetime. I think it's safe to say that a reference gram would have lost a similar amount of mass. This would have caused a larger change in the definition of a gram/kilogram over time because the ratio of mass lost in the reference would have been greater.

Sometimes. Maybe even often. Never always. To me the highest achievement a recording artist can make is an entire album that is a good coherent work of art best enjoyed as a whole. Some artist actually deliver this.
What statistics will the Adversity Score be based on? How close to reality are those numbers? What statistics will colleges create using the Adversity Score? Those will surely be even further away from reality.
The primary use of a number like Adversity Score is to create a pretty spreed sheet that generates pretty graphs that look good in board meetings, grant applications and pamphlets. While the data backing up the graph is impeccable it also is built on layer after layer of imperfect abstractions until the graph has very little to do with reality.
I think the goal of quantifying the amount of adversity a person experiences in their life is a fools errand. This is like asking "On a scale of 1-100 how beautiful is The Mona Lisa." Somethings can only be poorly approximated in numbers.
Once we have a number it tends to become An Important Thing, regardless of how much the number reflects reality. It is ironic that SAT is making a new number that has little reflection of reality to provide more context with their SAT test scores, which is another number that has only a poor approximate measurement of reality.

Mono's use was very limited because it was an out of date and slower implementation of .NET. It's used in such niche contexts (Xamarin and Unity) that it was easy to determine if the team you are applying is using MONO or Framework.
.NET core changed the ability to make the Windows assumption. Almost everyone has received the memo by now, but there was a period of time between .NET core 1.0 (June 2016) and the release of .NET core 2.0 (August 2017) where the platform was changing so much and the performance wasn't as good as framework that anyone without a simultaneous interest in Linux rightly ignored it. After the release of .NET core 2.0 the entire community began accepting it as a faster platform that runs comfortably on cheaper servers. A larger and larger portion of new projects have been running .net core. Now, with the planned release for .NET 5 next year .NET Framework is dead. However, if you were interviewing with a .NET team before June 2016 even asking the question "What operating system will this run on?" would have been a sign of incompetence. Of course you'll be building .exe and .dll files. Of course the webserver is going to be IIS. Those were the only things .NET was good at building.
