What is it about large untyped codebases that make it a nightmare?
You're bad at guessing.
This is one of the most difficult articles my eyes could read. The font is so small and my eyes jumped all over the place. The web I want: One that's easy to read.
Yay, another HN post confidently claiming "everyone’s doing X wrong."
"Everyone’s using AI wrong." Oh, we are? Please, enlightened us thought leader, tell us how we’ve all been doing it wrong this entire time.
"Here’s how most people use AI." No, that’s how you use AI. Can we stop projecting our own habits onto the whole world and calling it insight?

There's a big difference in wrong opinion and inciting violence. This isn't the government doing this. This is private companies taking action against the spread hate and lies. These are companies I want to do business with.
To be fair, the README says "can be" self hosted.
Yes, it was real. While in college, I was working as a programmer (Perl mostly) for a book publishing company and several database systems wouldn't boot up after the new year. It turned out they didn't bother upgrading their software. This was common, but by then, most software companies had patches available - probably because of the hype. In this case, I believe the fear provided by the media actually helped avoid a much bigger crisis.
AirBnB didn't fail. It has some work to do with managing fees, but overall, it provides a great service for people wanting a better or different experience than traditional hotels AND it's provide hosts with additional income at the same time. I much rather give my money to people needing extra savings than big business hotel chains.
I always look at Airbnb first when traveling because I value options like a kitchen where I can cook my own meals, a washer and dryer where I can wash my clothes, and a sofa to relax on.

Huh? You're in the minority here if you're saying that people would rather use a spreadsheet than web/mobile app. How can more than one person see or update their shared expenses if the Excel spreadsheet resides on your partner's computer? That doesn't sound easy to me.
BudgetDuo is a joy to use and that's the key. Sure, you can make Facebook clone on google sheets, but no one will use it. It's not convenient fiction at all, it's much much easier to swipe and tap on a mobile app than to do work on a spreadsheet - who want's to do that?
Not everyone is handy with spreadsheets. I'm really good with spreadsheets and a piece of me dies inside with each new one I create.
I make way more money than my partner and doing a 50/50 split would be really hard for them to swing each month.
Simple, easy to use, and useful. Nice work. It would be very interesting to see stats on how couples choose how their bills are divided.
