If people in my IN group, who I trust, kept telling me that student loans would be forgiven, then I'd go get a bunch of student loans too! True or not, some people think its going to happen.
I showed this to my coworkers who are mechanical engineers (I am a software engineer) and it made them angry...
EDIT: It was this+OpenSCAD in general that enraged them!
We don't need to change the definition of recession. We can just blame the last guy like we have always done for every politician on both sides.
I don't get the problem with facial recognition. An argument against a grocery store using FR is basically "How dare you identify me!"
Last I read YouTube is not profitable
When politics starts changing words and definitions to manipulate people, sides or groups is when I stop participating. How can I participate in the process if I cant even communicate ideas because the meanings of the words are changing to fit one side or another.
I am a fan of web bluetooth. Anything that can be run in a browser, should be.
The problem is having a 100k machine sitting idle for most of its life. Cars as a personal property is very inefficient.
The study mentions that having two parents is a factor in adult outcomes. I agree
Why is President Biden not making the visit?
TV, Videogames, and moviesactually dorot brains since normally people would otherwise be picking up new skills to make themselves more able.
Second year syndrom
My sister never had any facial ticks until it was popular on ticktok to have a facial tick.
Why? She undoubtedly broke the law (that she knew about) in Russia. If a Russian came to America and broke the law they would have to stay and pay the price. Why should she get any special treatment? Americans have gone to jail all over the world and they are still there, why not try to get them back too?
Our dogs are probably gonna die before we do. Done spend any money trying to prevent the inevitable. If you spent huge money on a specific breed of dog... We'll that's just dog-racist and you should just grab a new mutt puppy and be happy with a dog that loves you!
Fun app, feels like gambling though. Try updating the post to indicate there is a "FUN MODE".
> motivated to do their jobs well.
Doing their jobs well for their own boss means getting as much cash from you as possible.
Restarting cities from scratch is actually a really good idea especially in a place like UTAH or NEVADA which have tons of empty space that cant be farmed. Images if you could take all the problems you know about with NYC and restart from scratch for a version 2.0.
> but if you use an external service you really have to write specifications
90% of my job developing software is figuring out what the boss wants since he only has an outcome in mind, and doesn't really know what he wants. He couldn't go with an external service.
In 3 years almost of working with some remote people, I can say for sure that remote workers are less productive than in person workers, but only in the sense that all the in person people collaborate better together. I regularly run into the mechanical engineers at my office and we bounce ideas for a new product while standing at the coffee machine and then we make it together over a few weekends and get a big bonus and the company wins big with the product!
This stuff you cant do with remote workers. When the boss needs help on testing the app, he talks to me instead of the guy who made it since I am just one desk over and its easier to work together than schedule a meeting and all that. He just let the remote guy go and gave me the project.
I doubt that remote work will really take off. I barely even know the remote workers since all our interactions are 100% focused on the job. I cant build trust with them because I just don't know them. They are just a talking head in a window on my computer.
In video games (simulations) nothing exists unless a player looks at it. When you look at it all the work is done to determine what it looks like based on the set of algorithms. This seem familiar to the claims in the article.
The last time I looked about 5 years ago it was formatted way different. Now has code boxes with highlights and easier to read.
Significant change to include highlighting and formatting versus 5 years ago
> socket programming felt like a huge thing to me, like unlocking the next level of programming.
This was my story as well, I wonder how many people have been through this just like us!?
If you prefer a c implementation: https://libwebsockets.org/ is pretty standard!
I just pulled it up to refresh my knowledge for a project and it was different. The thing that sticks out the most being different is that the code boxes are highlighted. My first time reading, it was standard grey boxes similar to some other guide (IPC guide I just read was still grey boxes!). Great work! It's the best reference!
Everyone with access to the key is equal owner.
If we start getting friday as WFH or off, people will start feeling that way about thursdays
