I immediately recognized the title of the HN post, and it always makes my day when I see GFW in the wild.

Thanks so much for your comment, as someone whose name appears in the list of contributors [0] and was in the presentation of the project when it first launched 8 years ago I feel very grateful being part of it and couldn't have expressed the work better.

Taking a look at the source code I can't tell if the author used a generator but it doesn't look like it.

I've worked in growth teams with a lot of SEO related work and I disagree too. Another thing is leveraging one of those engines to publish your content sooner, then iterate and build your own content management system.

Next up was the laborious process of determining which bus lines one could actually take to each tennis court. My approach was 100% analog, starting from the top of the alphabetical list of tennis courts (Alamo Square) and marching straight through to the end (Youngblood Coleman), noting all of the bus lines that had a stop within reasonable walking distance to a court.

As a cartography nerd myself I was surprised just one comment suggested using GIS and geospatial analysis to match bus lines to tennis courts. Actually this very analysis could be made via services that provide a visual interface such as Mapbox or CARTO.

I recommend watching this documentary where Roger Tomlinson ("father of GIS") is highlighted https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VLGvWEuZxI

For those interested in learning to create maps on the web and visualize geospatial data CARTO also has a free MOOC site https://carto.com/academy/

Disclosure: I used to work at CARTO

I ran an ultramarathon (64 miles).

During this time of the year last year I was at a very stressful period at work changing to a new leadership role. I started working out more seriously, and signed up for a half-marathon, that I completed successfully (I had been running occasionally on my own, previously).

As the rewards of physical exercise were kind of immediate and didn't depend on external factors but myself it motivated me to put together a training schedule, and set the goal of finishing an ultra, inspired by some friends. I didn't communicate it to many people but just a few close friends. It was an endurance challenge, and I am very happy to have it accomplished.

Also, my performance review improved.
