What value besides money? A company paying a employee to be "loyal" is nothing more than a business transaction, and "loyal" really is "please, don't go to another company, we will pay you to stay here". I'm assuming the employee is not also the owner.

Nobody is forcing people who want to pay, to not pay. Most news papers make more or their money from advertisers, promotions, and such sources.

True. Something I learn when I came years ago to the US, is you don't have to be awesome at anything, being normal, working hard and keeping in mind principles like "spend less than what you make" already put you above 90% of people. Most folks are lazy out there in the real world. You don't need to grind super hard.

Those "legit" individuals are so rare, that instead of feeling envy, I just feel curiosity, and the desire to learn from them. But so far, I don't know of anyone. I'm sure there are a few, but I haven't met anyone in person that deserves the "legit" label.

Thunderbird used to be a Native email client, that was awesome. I want an native email client, contacts and calendar. That's it. I dislike the browser tabs inside Thunderbird (I already use Firefox), either make a web version or keep the native version native. You are right, bureaucrats are clueless, but they don't need to be sharp, the agencies that will benefit from violating people's privacy and right already are. The is no possible good coming from those laws, the argument of "saving the children" falls flat, because you could extended to anything, "ban knives because children could cut themselves", etc... That's a fallacy, those CEO's wouldn't be elsewhere making more, otherwise they would. That's just a trick they use to convince people of supporting with (in most cases tax free donations) their ridiculous life style. Nah, at least for me , all my friends(mostly faang SDEs) use iMessage, even the ones working at Google's Android team. The people who own Android devices, I know that in other countries outside the US, Android phone are way more popular(accessible), but I was referring in the US. Regarding features, the integration of iMessage with iOS is superior, I don't get what features of WhatsApp you are talking about, I don't think people who use iMessage would want to broadcasts stuff in channels, etc...

I agree with baby here, iMessage ate their lunch long ago,their competition is Kakao, Line, and the likes, not even Wechat, as they have 0 presence in China, and they are far behind features wise.
