This sounds a lot like the rust foundation is trying to either leverage its position into making money or influencing the rust community by giving out the "only real certificate".
German car manufacturers already have unions. Unions don't help against overmanagment and leadership without technical (digital) understanding. "Creative" parts of the company are often praised (while mostly badly stealing ideas from the competition) while devs are seen as a "resource". Experts usually get asked AFTER the project is on fire or already crisp.
I signed into o365 a few days ago and it recommended a random excel file of a completely unrelated department to me. Not sure why an office application needs to "recommend" files.

I grew up in a more rural area and we always played in a old stonequarry in the woods. I went back there a few years ago and was quite shocked how high that was. I dont think our parents were aware of that. Well - we all survived (not without some injuries to teach us a lesson).

They are usually really good, but germany also pushed a lot for more students in universities over the decades.
"We have a plethora of static and memory checking tools: Valgrind, ASsan, Intel Inspector, etc." I'm not sure what to do with that argument. How is having a plethora of external tools (that you have to setup, configure and in the end not ignore) better than a compiler that prevents memory bugs?
This is laughable. I'm not even sure this comes from an honest intention to improve the world.

If it turns out that she was involved or the reason for that, the rust foundation and core team will look really bad. And things usually get public over time. But right now it's just vage drama.
Cheating is a massive problem in multiplayer and most developers/publishers dont care much about it. Battlefield for example relies heavily on a community project to ban cheaters from private servers ( https://bfban.com ) but official DICE servers are often run over by cheaters.
While I agree on your general point about "diversity" in games I'm pretty sure HZD was before that topic became an issue.

That was pretty normal until not long ago, but there seems to be a push to "everything is political". This provides the excuse to go after people who might contibute to a community, but stated somewhere else opinions that are not in line with somebody in said community.
Depends on the language for me. In Perl it takes about 6h.
I found it extremely easy to get into and reason about the code. This is probably one of the reasons it got such good traction.
