The night trains are great. It's quite comfortable, you get there in the morning allowing for a full day (after dropping off your bags at the hotel) of work/tourism, and I especially hope Nightjet and other night train companies converts all of their trains to the modern mini cabins[0].

You don't need to delete data instantly, you just need to do it within a reasonable timeframe. So batching data deletion requests and running a clear out once a week should be fine.

You may even be okay to just reply to the user that you've deleted all active copies of the data and it'll be fully gone when your backups expire in 30 days.

If you buy a famous painting as an investment, I'd assume you have enough money to cover the taxes without having to auction it.

Accurately valuing the painting every year is definitely very difficult.

The same argument doesn't necessarily go for a farmer's farmland. The zoning could of course be calculated into the land value. But I'm unsure if farming economics allow for paying the taxes on those unrealized gains

I'm sorry to be harsh, but this is not an alternative to the linked product at all. It's not available through an API, there's no Javascript SDK, there's no CDN configured, you still have to set up and manage an S3 bucket... It's not even in the same category, imo.

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport has drinking fountains at most if not all toilets[0]. There's been a short period recently apparently where they were getting replaced and so were unavailable.

The city of Amsterdam has 500 fountains or bottle filling stations[1]. The rest of the country has at least 2400 more[2].

I used ProtonMail for a few years, but ended up switching to FastMail. Too much became too difficult due to the full E2EE, especially the calendar app was impossible to use together with other apps or even other people.

The email app was _fine_, but not great, and again E2EE was difficult to use with other apps. Especially on desktop I like using a dedicated app, and their bridge just never cut it for me in terms of stability.

The VPN worked well! I ended up switching to Mullvad, and have now moved to Mullvad-over-Tailscale, which works alright.

I never used their password manager (very happy 1Password user), their cloud storage (content with my Syncthing setup).

You could also probably detect the terminal you're in and use some of their advanced features, like the image protocol in iTerm2[0] or the terminal graphics protocol[1]. 1 also lists alternative programs that do this!

I think it's really cool that Python has a healthy third-party interpreter community. PyPy, IronPython, Jython, and now RustPython expand Python's accessibility. It's very cool to see how many people are working on this, and I wonder what kind of problems with CPython this has exposed also.

Fwiw, Power over Ethernet or PoE has been a widely used IEEE standard since 2003. This is not specific to Cisco, or Meraki. It's common for VoIP phones, cameras, routers, intercoms, etc.
