My take on this post is that things will break, but they should tell you they broke in an actionable and somewhat standardized way. If the only message that shows up is "An error has occured" that doesn't help the user, especially if they are non-technical.

10+ years of experience. Job search was easy this time around. I marked myself as available to opportunities on LinkedIn and within two weeks my inbox was flooded with opportunities. Most of them were not what I was looking for at all, but a few of them were.
I probably applied to a total of 20 places outside of the companies that reached out to me. Most resulted in some form of auto rejection, but a few turned into recruiter calls or more.
The role I ended up taking at DoorDash was from a recruiter reaching out to me back in August.
"Impacted" by layoffs on May 24th. Took a nice 3-4 month break before I even started my search. Just started at DoorDash this week. A lot of former Meta/FB folks here
I'm also at a FAANG, and work with a lot of people in their 40's
+1 to this. I didn't start talking to one until my late 20's and my only regret is not starting sooner.

An Elegant Puzzle: Systems of Engineering Management by Wil Laron is one of my favorites
Anyone who is intimidated math, I highly recommend reading through his site. Paul's Online Notes got me through all of my math requirements for my CS program. I would go to my lecture and struggle to understand what was going on each week. When it came time to do my homework, I'd read his notes on whatever class I was taking (Calc, Linear Algebra, Diff Eq) and instantly feel better and have more understanding. I cannot praise this site enough.
One of the "Requests for Startups" items for YC is for Brick & Mortar 2.0 [1]. I'm curious to see if retail stores being used as fulfillment centers is a more longterm trend after the virus has been tamed. Where would a startup best fit if this does become a trend.
I know when I'm in the market for a new electronic accessory, I'll often go to Best Buy when I just want to see and feel what I'm shopping for. If I decide in-store that I want to purchase something, I'll scan the barcode on the back and see if it's cheaper elsewhere and many times it is. Is there a want for more showrooms for certain high-priced items, even if they aren't things like mattresses and exercise equipment? Could somewhere like Best Buy exist with a much smaller showroom with a handful of TV's and most of their items in a warehouse?
I've always looked forward to the next Age of Discovery, when we set out to colonize on other planets. What I've never understood, though, is the "plan" that Mars is a good backup to Earth. Outside of some cataclysmic event - our planet will continue to be more hospitable than Mars. I have little doubt we would be able to set up a small station on the moon or Mars within my lifetime, but I don't see us supporting large amounts of people on another planet anytime soon.
If we inflict something on ourselves that makes the Earth no longer hospitable for humans, I think that's when we should call it quits on humanity because we obviously aren't mature enough a species to take care of our gifts.
I've seen rates as low as 2.75% on Better (500k mortgage with 5% down). As someone who was a first-time homebuyer a.little over a year ago, I've been wrestling with the pros and cons of refinancing now to drop my 4.2% interest rate. A few friends and coworkers have done it recently, but it seems to only make sicne if you're not getting killed with closing costs.
Good on GitHub for being transparent. That said, I hope they return to being a more reliable platform soon
This post reeks of privilege.
There are people who quite literally do not have time. They are born into a world where they know nothing other than having a lack of time. They grow up in a household where their parent(s) work multiple jobs to keep food on the table and the lights on. They aren't contemplating taking gap years to travel or learn a new language.
While everyone has 24 hours in a day, not everyone can dictate what they do during them. Free time is a luxury.

I agree with what jdsfighter said - you should go to the doctor to get some confidence that there isn't some sort of underlying heart issue. After that though, it's really a mental game that requires/required some therapy.
My panic attacks last from 3-10 minutes typically and can go up to 90 minutes. I wear an Apple Watch which would (hopefully) let me know if I had an arrhythmia. I also check my heart rate when I'm having a panic attack (which sometimes doesn't help) and I try to see if it's consistently going up, or if with deep breathing I'm able to get it to go down. Lastly, I have the xanax, which usually fully kicks in within 10-15 minutes. My attacks have the shortness of breath, feeling like I can't catch my breath, rapid heart rate, tunnel vision, etc. I try to find a calm/quiet space to relax, listen to my Calm app, and if I'm lucky, lay down for a bit.
I had a very similar experience. Started when I was 25 after a 3 month stint of being unemployed. It started with a panic attack (which I thought was a heart attack at the time), and I ended up going to the hospital, a cardiologist, sleep clinic, gastro, etc. until eventually came to the conclusion it was nothing wrong with my heart but rather panic disorder.
I take a low dose of xanax now and all the symptoms went away and I no longer have panic attacks. I'm working on finding a better daily medication, but it completely changed my life to have a temporary solution after 3+ years of struggle and suffering with panic attacks multiple times per week.

I did read the article, and I don't have malicious intent. I was just trying to make a more easily sharable URL for people trying to test if they are vulnerable. I include links to the medium article and an update that there is now an update released to fix this web server issue.
If you're interested in seeing if you're vulnerable to this, visit this website: http://zoomzeroday.com
