The influence and dominance of conservative media is striking. They have sane-washed and explained away things that would have ended 10 other politicians careers. Trump is Asimovs "mule". His appeal to large groups of people is inexplicable. Vance is certainly NOT that. It's open question how much success the Mule's successor would have. Surely momentum and conservative media will carry him far (should that come to pass).

At one company (think bank/financial services) I was at as a "software development supervisor" I had to run a daily standup/scrum meeting every day, for 3 years. It really became oppressive over time. That company eventually had layoffs and I left. But they were still doing the daily standup, even when there were only 3 people left.
Indeed there are multiple such optimizations. One that occurs to me is a hub/spoke model where inter-city/state is driverless, from/to truck "yards" on the outskirts of cities. Then human drivers take over and drive the last few miles. Drivers get to go home every night and lead normal lives instead of living on the road.
How is authentication/authorization handled with this stack? Or sign up with email validation and password reset?

We did this, and I'd add that repeating what they say back to them so they get that feedback is important too. It's startling to see the difference between our kids and their class mates, who's parents don't talk them (I know this from observing at the countless birthday parties, school events, and sports events). Actually, the unreasonably long boom arm is bouncing around significantly, yet the bricks are being place precisely independent of the boom movement. There's some nontrivial PID going on in that brick placement. Plus planning where to place the brick. Optical, lidar? This is impressive imo.
Is there a lego inspired solution to industrial design, specifically mechanical mechanisms? I have had a product in mind that is quite intricate with several possible configurations. I personally haven't excercised my 3d muscles as much over the years and I find cad with 3d printing to be not as intuitive as snapping parts together.

Agreed. Discovery is a big problem with youtube. There seems to be a pattern. Like I've been researching hardware designs for real time image processing lately. Over time the same search terms reveal more and more relevant links. Overall youtube search is completely useless.

One thing I've noticed about goodreads is there are two distinct types of users. One type gives thoughtful reviews that are all text. The other type give shallow vapid reviews replete with emojis and memes and usually end with "didn't finish the book".
This x1000. Back in the 90's writing software 3d rasterizers was right of passage of sorts. Writing parsers and interpreters too. At least that was my impression. Doing "hard" things like this can be very illuminating, it's kind of a super power to know how these things work. "Pulling back the curtain" on things that seem like black magic before.
My kids are into collecting pokemon cards big time. We have this conversation pretty frequently; why didn't I buy pokemon cards in the 90's? We'd be rich! I try to tell them about the over production and glut in collectible cards in the 90's but it really doesn't sink in. At the time we had just come off the beanie baby and pog fads. I personally had no interest in buying any thing. I still have no clue why these cards are "worth" as much as they say they are. On the other hand those black lotus mtg cards I used to see for $10, that is real scarcity I understand.
I once worked at a place where about 5 of 15 developers sat on crucible all day fellating each other on code reviews. Anytime the rest of the developers would have code reviewed they'd be met with a long list of required changes that where "standards" the 5 had agreed on, and never communicated out side of their own comments in the tool. And the "standards" changed often, and the changes where never communicated either. Besides being a toxic culture, it was a real drag on development velocity to say the least.
Code review culture is so important, and so often completely disfunctional. I've quit jobs because of toxic code review cultures like above, and one of the main things keeping me at my current job is sane code review culture we have.
Adding on to this, and related somewhat, binary addition even with look ahead is a multi clock cycle process for non trivial word sizes. Arithmetic is not trivial by any means. We all just take it for granted.
