DDG started to ignore the country preference (the slide button) I set.

I keep it in the off position, that should mean "all countries" but it still shows me results in Italian language, even if I search in English.

Google started doing that years ago, and it's quite annoying since I usually want international results.

I'm genuinely curious about who uses the Raspberry Pi distro on a x86 computer.

Does it exist only related to the development of the Raspberry Pi OS for aarch64 and armhf or there are people out there that choose Raspberry Pi Desktop as their main distro for their PC/Mac?

IMHO it’s a bad idea.

Market for bluetooth speakers and music streaming apps is saturated.

Their users base didn’t ask for this and they are unimpressed at best or even hangry.

The Polaroid company of today is a small company. I understand they are trying to diversifying their business and monetize their worthy brand but they are probably just wasting resources and damaging their brand: Polaroid should be all about instant photography not branding some lifestyle electronics from some OEM in China.

They are repeating errors from the past, they already failed two times trying this move.

The second note at the bottom of the page says: "That hardware was too outdated to keep producing in any case, and couldn’t complete in a free market."

So I'd say no, there aren't any large Soviet hardware manufacturers anymore.

No, .json file as always. Honestly, I like it this way: it is easier to search for parameters and the comments over them explain quickly what each parameter does and how it can be changed.

I changed the tabs angles, the theme, the colors scheme and the caret blinking back to look identical to ST3.

What is the meaning of the Unix Feuds and Unix Views posters? The Unix Magic is pretty straightforward but the other two are - at least to me - quite obscure.

I'm sorry to see how many people here on HN are commenting debit/credit card systems without really knowing the topic, spreading false notions, clichés, absolute conclusions from personal anecdotes or simply by stating easy stereotypes towards banks and financial institutions.

I'm usually learning a lot from HN but I'm sad to say this discussion is full with low quality contents.

Same in Italy, with old swipe cards you have to show an ID; some merchandiser don't ask but they should.

Anyway, this mostly faded away since most of new cards are chip&pin and, more importantly, in Italy most of the people use debit cards (Bancomat is the common debit circuit here) or... cash :-\

No mention about the ransomware.

Also no informations about flygarmin.com.

They do confirm that “inReach SOS and messaging remain fully functional and are not impacted by the outage“ though.

Of course, also no mention about when the service will be restored.
