Right. when you say waste capitalism, I hear that it's really a hostile form of extractive, incredibly selfish, self-serving philosophy that takes more than is sustainable.

When I believe sustainable practices can go farther that waste capitalism, and that we could feed most people on earth with that change, I do feel anger and frustration.

Asking because there's a lot of trolling and hostility disguised as curiosity on hacker news lately, and I've wasted a lot of time engaging with these people. Not saying thats you or the guy above you, but I'm not open to spending my time only to receive a dismissive and hostile response discounting my sources when your preferences (obviously different from every other person) would point to different level of burden of proof.

In which case I'm curious, why haven't you already looked for this? What's stopping you? or did you check and couldn't corroborate - why would I answer then for someone who has already started with dismissiveness and demonstrated a filtering perception that won't be open minded? I find it akin to talking to a wall when someone asks for proof when they've already made up their mind that it cannot exist.

Thank you for sharing all that, and your experience. I didn't know sludge was an issue, and that's valuable for me to remember that it can be tested for! In some of my past I lived on eco villages and sustainable cooperative farmland housing, and we had a regenerative farming process going - since they were on remote regions like Hawaii big island or Oregon sludge likely wasn't used though I know now to check wherever I go next.

I think from our convo maybe the options in popular states or counties are limited or corrupted and that leaves a few. I wonder if non-USA areas are just simply better for many of the reasons mentioned.

It's an interesting time to be alive when your local models are supposedly the pinnacle of what a free nation is capable of, yet the ethicality of the companies is disliked and their models restrict and limit you so much you root for the models from a socialist/communist state. It was technology. With greater efficiency, came also greater separation and distance at home and with family and community and our initiatory rituals/rites.

We used to use community to pass those down, but now the average American family gets divided from each other at an early age as soon as the distraction and ideology from technology like screens and things social media comes into play.

Edit: Before internet, there were other forms of "social media" at play attempting to extract the attention of the individual units of the family and community, but they weren't as effective. With the internet they are more effective.

Which is more likely? That past behavior is an indication of future behavior, or that they because they could be eliminated from being found out it’s unlikely they’d do that thing. (By the way it’s also likely they’d are eliminated if they dont train their data with every advantage over their competitors possible). So I think it’s naive to think the incentives reward not doing the malicious thing now.

I think the risk of not doing is more existential than doing so and getting caught. Wouldn’t you agree?

I prefer to have minimal flows where each window is just the pure session contents, with a title maybe (even then I don't like the bloat of a title taking up any screen real estate).

I definitely wouldn't use any coding agent, GUI (yours included) without my skills. They are where most of my effort has gone, and what make the session effective. Without them, I'm spending a lot more time hand-holding and re-doing work with the AI.

So I created a system that seems a bit opposed to yours, or at least I'll take inspiration from you and probably update it. It's an overlay that I can resize, and an accompanying web view, of all my running coding agent terminal sessions. I can find old ones too, but mostly I want to know when something finished running or if it's waiting for me on something and if so what. It's not published anywhere but if you want to try it or see screenshots I can share.

I'm so sorry. This sounds horrible. Have you local elected officials or the contractors been made aware of this and are willing to do anything about it? Even help sound proof windows, outdoor areas, etc.

I think this kind of behavior by the groups causing this impact on you is irresponsible and harmful, even if it's not known. If they know I think they are being unethical - I think its fair if they suffer harm and damage as a result such as in court or you similarly start to coordinate a group of people that can make their jobs harder as well through legal means of course.

Interesting. Just opened it up to use, while I had a codex terminal session running - my first instinct was to want to see my pre-existing open session in the GUI instead and be able to drive it in either spot. Is that something I can do?

Also when I opened a new session (in the Juggler GUI) at my root where all my projects live, my instinct was to navigate to a project directory first or to have it open there. Not sure how to do this, without changing the global setting for my projects root. That's how I think through claude code/codex coding sessions via the terminal wondering if that mental model is wrong.

I asked which skills it could access, and it turns out it couldn't access any of my global skills already - I thought that part would just work since it accesses my codex subscription. is that something you plan to add.
