TFA originally meant "The Fucking Article" but on HN seems to have morphed its meaning to "The Fine Article" or "The Featured Article". I can't stop reading it as the former every time I come across it.

Not available yet, but Korean KF-21 and Turkish Kaan/TF-X (which Spain is thinking about buying/co-producing IIRC), though they're both considered 4.5th gen fighter jets rather than 5th like the F-35.

I wouldn't mind and I would actually prefer if things were translated correctly, adapting to local slang, cultural references and the likes. As of now translations are weird if not outright cringey. This is a problem with LLMs in general (probably because they're trained mostly on English data), although to a lesser degree, but enough that I have to correct them daily.

I wonder if we even need to consume content by reading, as opposed to watching or listening, to be neurologically healthy and developed, considering it's something we didn't start doing until a few thousand years ago. Isn't reading kind of a specialization of watching?

I think it depends. An athlete might want to keep the same or less weight for performance or aesthetical reasons.

There you go. No artificial sweetener seems to be safe...guess I'll have to get used to making unsweetened protein bars and the occasional drinks and ice cream. Their sugar counterparts are too caloric.

Undoubtedly, but a significant positive aspect is the democratization of this technology that enables access for people who could not afford it, not productively, that is.

I think the issue with AI (in contrast to human interaction) is its lack of real-time responsiveness. This slower back-and-forth can lead to frustration, especially if it takes a dozen or more messages to get the point across. Humans are also helped in helping you by contextual cues like gestures, facial expressions or "shared qualia".

I've come to believe that consistently engaging with ideas and concepts through a variety of media "naturally" embeds them in memory and understanding. I feel coming across information from different angles and in changing contexts provides a form of implicit repetition that for me makes explicit systems (like SRS) unnecessary. What seems crucial to me is having sufficient variability but also making sure it is introduced within an appropriate timeframe.

I use light mode during the day and dark mode from dusk till dawn. I do this because I find it more comfortable, not because I'm told by someone or a study that it's better.

Binding to port 0 is a solution. I tested it and I always get a port not used by other programs.
