On the contrary, it will make Hey more known to the community, like free advertising. Mockery is probably the best tool for growth hacking ;)

" Agile blinds you from seeing the whole product and causes bad, segmented, low-focus mistakes. If you are TOO agile you may build a DB/API/Logic/Data structure that is too narrow and limiting of the eventual goal." I disagree, your goal should be agile too!!! It has to always change !

ShapeUp TLDR; >> Backlogs are big time wasters too. The time spent constantly reviewing, grooming andorganizing old ideas prevents everyone from moving forward on the timely projects that really matter right now. <<

I kind of agree with this advice, because, I am using it at present, and we are really moving fast.

The most valuable thing is your ideas but only in the present. Ideas are living things that unsmart with time...

The more you shape things, the less freedom you will give to yourself about the future.

Ideas are moving things in the head and should be kept like this.

Stick to just one month planning ahead is largely enought.

Like best code is no code at all, over-planning is just wasting time.

Best way is to build your product. A real world product. There only you will be able to confront upon the wall of Reality .... Even the lightest simplest product is the best tool to really learn, as you confront, think, invent, try and errors everything.

Languages have no meaning if there are not tested in real space. I lost a lot of karma here because of discussion on PHP (I am a ruby guy). But at the end you can keep and relie on PHP, because until you don't see yourselve flaws, then those flaws doesn't really exist. And only then you choose your language that will correct problem the right way ;)

After your product is done, show it to us here, return to HN and expose your vision, and receive rewards and critics at the same time.

We Don't Hate PHP 6 years ago

Sorry guys,PHP is the outdated! (From someone who start PHP in 2000 with PHP 2.0 and is still reading lastest Laravel code source). To young people: choose your language wisely, you don't need to know PHP to be successful in Web dev

I can agree that Zoom is not the best format for classes, but that doesn't mean classes can't be online and working perfectly.

For me there is so much room to innovate in EduTech!

Why always trying to go back to the past form of tradition instead of being the engine of innovation.

There are plenty of talented people here, that are currently reading HN, so instead of saying please get my physical classmate, ask for change in the cyber world, you should be served well ;)

Against Testing 6 years ago

I, 100% agree, tests should be automatly made.

When I am on a ruby console and I test manually, I should be able to create a test that will replicate the one done by hand. I should not have to learn a test framework.

For all for reasons I decided to only test real edge cases. Also I have now to create that magical gem that will generate automatly test.

I still don't understand the point of this project.

I mean QUIC is here, waiting for us.

Why throwing away 30 years of HTTP ideas . If images and cookies are to be forbid that should be made from the web developper decision.

Choosing Gemini is like accepting restriction by law. I feel like this is old behaviour, that confidence and responsability is the way forward.

In a way Gemini could have been published by writer of European Union , North Korea or Soviet Union laws, I can't belive this is a US products, as it contains too much to liberty constrain ;)

This one of the most profound text on education! Because it is very simple, understandable and still tell us about the way we need to move forward in the near future.

Thanks for sharing. Thanks HN for putting this in the front page ;)

That was also one of my side project idea. But the concept should go further: with a time limit !

My idea was that you should not be allowed to speak about your daily task more than 42 second on a video record shared to all you team mates.

Diagram as Code 6 years ago

I have the exact seem disappointment ;(. As we evolve towards a world were low code will become a part of everday tools, diagram generating code is to me a good answer, at least on a scaffolding level...

This is because nobody is an epidemiologist over-night. So now you will be able to discard any proposition from those kind of people, those one who are trying so hard to be smart, but that obviously can't become over-night ;)
