This is true only for Skype to Skype connections. Calls that have to reach The PSTN[1] need to be routed through telephony servers somehow, exposing the possibility to cause some stress on Skype's servers as FrojoS mentions.

I've used their service a couple of times and I can only recommend it. Looks like a good place to work and Mark Villa Camp, the guy mentioned in the article is a well known name in the Spanish tech scene.
Is Cabify a copycat? Whatever, is a well executed idea and I wish they succeed.
That is a (mis)perception most people have (myself included) regarding career development. Professionals follow the path of the higher salary.
For me, the path can be something like this: South America < PIGS < France/Germany/UK < Rest of The USA < SV/NYC
That being said, there's also people who give more value to quality of life. The place that work for in Spain have several people from The US, Sweden and UK, even though they could be making more money back in their countries.

Remember that whatever amount of money is this publisher making, Apple is taking a 30%. Maybe they don't put too much effort on their side on purpose, just saying.
This looks very promising, but are there any examples of real applications written with RubyMotion and submitted to the AppStore? Everything I see is just stand-alone examples, but can all the pieces be glued together and turn into a functional app?
And second, maybe this is a dumb question, but is there any possibility that Apple blocks apps submitted using third party tools like this?
They own the DUCK.CO domain, but use it as a community forum. I think they should use that one as a shortcut to their main product, but probably they don't want to cause confusion.

I was living in Colombia when it was launched. It had a big media coverage, so I tried it once just out of curiosity. It tasted really really bad and I didn't notice any side effects after managing to drink just half bottle.
It never took off.

What you suggest not to call a "war" has killed thousands of people in countries like Mexico and Colombia[1]. Is this what you mean when you say "deaths of large numbers of combatants"?
I come from a country that suffers this "war on drugs", I've had members of my family kidnapped, I've seen people being assassinated in front of me by hit-men. Some others haven't been that lucky.

During my senior year in college I built a company with a very good friend of mine. I came out with the name by picking random letters written in pieces of paper out of a plastic bag, iterating over and over until they formed an easy to pronounce two syllables word with the .COM extension available.
After that, we needed a website, and to build it, we needed a logo, so we bought one on the Internet for $11 in one of those websites that sell templates and logos, I don't even remember the name but I can't forget the amount we paid for it.
We had the company for more than five years, gained a lot of experience, made a profit and had a successful exit before embarking on new adventures.
I am 100% sure we could have done exactly the same without a logo or with a completely different one.
To put people who may not know Ryanair in context: is a low-cost Irish airline that operates in Europe. You can get round trip flights starting at EUR 0.01. His CEO is a very controversial person who has been on the press for suggesting aggressive measures to make air travel even cheaper, like run flights where passengers stand during the journey, removing toilets from aircrafts and the most recent one, providing paid porn movies on board. Once, I travel Madrid-Paris with them for less than 20 euros. Most of their fleet are Boeing 737-800.

We built a "password strengthener" the other day. During the analysis phase, we ran our passwords database (~10M accounts) against a dictionary. We wanted to do this to ban the top ten most common used words among other things. The results beyond top 10 were completely different than the ones pointed here by the OP, the first 10 were almost exactly the same.
My take is that this depends considerably in your target audience, I'm not disclosing which team I'm a member of, but if you run the same analysis to come up with ideas on how to enforce users to chose better passwords, you'll see how different the result are going to look.
