At no cost to the tax payer? I keep on reading bail out but I’m inclined to think it’s going to more like a bail in. Depositors transformed into shareholders. I read about these possible type of changes after the last banking crisis.

The negative development in our service business underscores that we have much work ahead of us to stabilize our business and return to profitability," said Siemens Gamesa Chief Executive Jochen Eickholt, who joined from Siemens Energy last year.

I’m interested in the new phase out and the realistic time frame. It’s not this: https://www.theverge.com/2022/1/24/22898666/panasonic-4680-t... Currently recycling is very low. I think he’s focused on what’s likely in production for the near future and the real material problem of all infrastructure ( its massive)
A very compelling case and the material for 100% renewables is staggering. How this can be ignored is bewildering.
A discussion at:
https://www.reddit.com/r/collapse/comments/wuc4vg/assoc_prof...
Simon Michaux presents the deck of data showing details of where his calculations are coming from that show even the first generation of renewables to replace fossil fuels is going to outstrip our capacity to source the minerals (lithium, copper, vanadium, manganese, cobalt, etc required for only the first generation of renewable energy) and the amount of energy to be replaced based on efficiencies is exorbitant. Summary: EROI going down, mineral requirements going way up spell issues moving forward.
Nobody is refuting that there are not alternatives & solutions. Each of the pts are supported. It’s the shear scale of replacing conventional energy & we haven’t really dented its use.
This is from today’s James Kunstler blog:
The solar electric I installed on the house nine years ago is down. It’s supposed to feed that monster called the grid. Since April, I noticed that the electric bill is creeping up way beyond the usual seventeen bucks that the electric company charges home solar producers for the privilege of feeding their system — which, let’s face it, has a downside for them because the intermittency of so-called alt-energy disorders their operations.
This article covers major issues:
Limits to Green Energy Are Becoming Much Clearer: https://ourfiniteworld.com/2022/02/09/limits-to-green-energy...
[1] It is becoming clear that intermittent wind and solar cannot be counted on to provide adequate electricity supply when the electrical distribution system needs them.
2] Adequate storage for electricity is not feasible in any reasonable timeframe. This means that if cold countries are not to “freeze in the dark” during winter, fossil fuel backup is likely to be needed for many years in the future.
3) After many years of subsidies and mandates, today’s green electricity is only a tiny fraction of what is needed to keep our current economy operating.
[4] Even as a percentage of electricity, rather than total energy, renewables still comprised a relatively small share in 2020.
5] Most modelers have not understood that reserve to production ratios greatly overstate the amount of fossil fuels and other minerals that the economy will be able to extract.
6] The world economy seems already to be reaching limits on the extraction of coal and natural gas to be used for balancing electricity provided by intermittent renewables.
7] Conclusion. Modelers and leaders everywhere have had a basic misunderstanding of how the economy operates and what limits we are up against. This misunderstanding has allowed scientists to put together models that are far from the situation we are actually facing.

The Fed is trapped: It can’t raise too much since trillions of debt rely on very low rates. If it doesn’t raise enough then inflation will cause a recession.
It might be fast if implemented on a laser beam instead of tape. (I wonder if it’s technically possible?
Can you elaborate? I know of a few females who had irregular menstrual bleeding.
I’ve posted this before. I’d like to understand this better: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7645850/ THE RISK OF ADE IN COVID‐19 VACCINES IS NON‐THEORETICAL AND COMPELLING
Yes it’s interesting that they are using previous corona profiles. You would think a yr is long enough but I’m patient and will hedge my bet by losing my job.
Thx, that’s promising. I find it interesting that the fda has to play games: technically the vaccine is still under emergency use authorization & not approved (last paragraph)
From this article: “When the vaccine was rolled out the goal should have been to focus on people at risk, and that should still be the focus,” says Memoli. Such risk stratification may have complicated logistics, but it would also require more nuanced messaging. “A lot of public health people have this notion that if the public is told that there’s even the slightest bit of uncertainty about a vaccine, then they won’t get it,” he says. For Memoli, this reflects a bygone paternalism. “I always think it’s much better to be very clear and honest about what we do and don’t know, what the risks and benefits are, and allow people to make decisions for themselves.”
The authors here agree (I’d really like professionals to discuss this for it’s highly disturbing; but obvious why it wasn’t communicated to subjects)

Informed consent disclosure to vaccine trial subjects of risk of COVID‐19 vaccines worsening clinical disease
Just about to post the same.My copy disappeared but I think it had great photos. There was a vengeful account of a tribe killing a boy left alone. He was trapped inside cliffs with no escape. Thesiger Said he respected Bedouin more than his Eton chums.

It seems that the new data invalidates that conclusion?
What about the Neanderthal race?
Well he’s saying Site is being demonetized. It’s posting this interesting comment in the articles(that seems to contradict some of the posts on this thread):
Both NOAA and NASA appear to agree, if you read between the lines, with NOAA saying we’re entering a ‘full-blown’ Grand Solar Minimum in the late-2020s, and NASA seeing this upcoming solar cycle (25) as “the weakest of the past 200 years”, with the agency correlating previous solar shutdowns to prolonged periods of global cooling here.
-A decision was made to do nothing based on ambiguity in perception, and the emergency braking was turned off because it got too many false alarms from the sensor”
So instead of solving this problem it was decided to go forward;abominable. At least the truth came out.
These would have been the 1st battery tests by the car company, surely? Child chasing ball is obviously important scenario. Lidar/sw didnt recognize human/bike combo? But blob was moving & system failed to see or avoid moving blob. That makes me think there should also be a pretrip system check like airlines.
Elaine Herzberg probably casually jaywalked previously but human driver slowed.this time she got surprised by robot killer that violated asimovs 1st law. Safe av's are coming but why so impatient?
The first myth of management is that it exists.
Can quantcom be used to compute genesis blockchain?
In the USA heating, HVAC, etc.. account for half of the energy used in residential buildings. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_thermal_energy Direct solar water heating (passive) has been used for quite a while and has a maximum efficiency of solar thermal systems are between .46 & .74. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_water_heating
That compares to a solar panel efficiency of .15; and I guess a lot less when applied to water heating due to conversion. And implementing in dense urban areas, passive is not as viable as active. If we were serious we would first implement passive systems. But we don't. I guess there’s something I don’t understand.
Fyi: john Crudele reports on employment at the nypost ; he gets inside info from census (which he blasts) Years ago he reported on plunge protection team(ppt- market manipulation) that i was skeptical about. I no longer am.
The article pulls you in making you think there is some subtle dynamic. Then the first discovery is psychological safety. Very important but not that insightful because everyone is looking for this environment. I wonder if Alan Turing's enigma project had a psychologically safe environment?
Now this notion of psychological safety is interesting because it makes me think of our larger environment (too much a leap!) that it's similar to our personal safety ( perhaps requiring more surveillance?). It reminds me of Hayek’s notion in "Road to serfdom" opining that submitting to less freedom for more safety will make you worse off. I do have to say I would probably submit to more safety - it's so much easier.
I'm not registering to read full article but the other mainstream articles list curbing terrorism & crime as the main reasons. None mention the possibility of cash withdrawl in a negative rate environment. (Can anyone verify?) But I find it hard to believe we'll go negative since it would destroy the money markets, & possibly pensions.
It seems this system requires the car to be stationary while charging but it would be like using cars as electric trollies. Hmmm I wonder if cars on hwys could have an automatically deployed arm for contacting a third rail or overhead wire?
Note the title is opposite of what they recently did.
Selling treasuries has large ramifications for the US. and a warning that we should think about getting our financial house in order (congress will not heed this, only the bond traders will force "austerity" as they did during the Carter administration) China's 2% devaluation of the renminbi a couple weeks ago was the trigger for the current market turmoil.
Chinese financial tactics are probably aligned with the goal of inclusion into the IMF SDR: <IMF Executive Board Approves Extension of Current SDR Currency Basket Until September 30, 2016> http://www.imf.org/external/np/sec/pr/2015/pr15384.htm (Was it retribution for not being immediately included? Maybe not, but they still are the major holder of US treasuries.)
Then they wouldn't need as many dollars to buy their trade goods. Chinese rise is inevitable and we need to do serious things to prepare for living beyond our means.
"Back in the day" as a hobbyist, after staring at the crt someone exclaimed "well do something!" I was quite amused. I recall a story where the idle bill gates had to tell (mom?) " i'm thinking". The best is Feynman recount of debugging a radio circuit where the awed owner tells someone "he fixes radios by thinking about them!"
