We have 100s of developers using Github, HipChat. This service would be quite useful. Especially the offboarding.

Another thing that would be awesome if your could get even finer grained control of some of the services. Like having the ability to maintain some additional Github permissions. A big pain point for us right now is you need to have admin to manage teams, webhooks, etc. Have some levels between admin and write would be great (and I don't blame GH for having these. It's a more enterprise need.)

Yep. We've never seen anything like this before.

At WebFilings (https://webfilings.com/) we've been using since day 1 as well. It has it's warts but once you get some experience on the platform it can be pretty great.

And Big Table (or at least GAE) does support transactions.

We use GAE for our app (http://www.webfilings.com/) and have had quite a bit of success with it. It really depends on your usage. For certain types of applications it makes a ton of sense and is still quite affordable.

I think this is more like it. We use the Django framework at work and I wish we could get rid of it. These big "do all" frameworks seem like a good idea but by the time you've hacked in all of your needs along with GAE's your begin to wonder why you ever started with.

My company is currently debating between Github and Bitbucket. And the funny thing is git vs hg wasn't really an issue. We've decided that either is so much better than svn that we'd take either.

We have 2 large road blocks for Bitbucket. First is a real nice review system with inline comments during a pull request. Is this coming soon? It's an absolute deal breaker for us.

Also the performance/usability seems to be lacking compared to Github. I hope that changes. Although we also use JiraStudio and it's performance is dreadful. And the usability is quite frustrating. So the Atlassian track record is a little worrying for us.

Not sure yet. Even though we are one of the bigger clients on App Engine we weren't getting charged much at all for our usage anyways. But I believe Google said it would be around 3x for the HRD which isn't bad at all. Our executives really didn't care though as stability and reliability to our customers is worth too much to worry 3X (GAE's non-hrd stability has not been good recently). Btw we all use EC2 for some of our other services and that is costing us quite a bit more than GAE is at the moment. We'll see if that continues to hold true as we grow.

1) Yep. My company moved to an HRD instance this week and our CS reps and customers have both noticed a significant difference in stability. That doesn't imply that it's perfect but to say that Google is ignoring the issue is completely false.
